Spalding said:What still mystifies me is how stupid people were about this game at halftime. Everyone bet on the Seattle +0.5 cause they were "outplaying" the Steelers in every aspect of the game....YET, they were losing! What does that tell you?
They were getting killed by the refs in the first half, why would that change in the 2nd half? Yet people, still bet even more on Seattle and ended up getting taken for twice as much as they would have.
I brought up that what happens if the Steeler start playing good, like they have been? Well, we found out.

I think if you take all those bad calls out, and pitt had to play better, they would have. No question big ben struggled and seattle's offense line was awesome, but i also think pitt would have made plays to win. seattle played well enough at times to win but made a lot of mistakes, especially managing the clock. all in all, I am kinda glad the season is over because i can't handle drinking all day on sundays and then having to work early the next day

Your post didnt at all come off wrong way. I think most of what people are saying on this board and other boards is pretty much right on the money. I dont think the game was fixed, but i hated to see seattle get hosed at some critical times during the game.

thom24ad said:Well thought out reply but shockingly we are disagreeing on the push off...he had the Steelers DB already out of position and there was no need for the contact...which is maybe the reason the ref made the call...but honestly both teams really played like chit...and Pitts D did have I think couple drop INTs...but any how the game is won or lost on big plays and if Seattle was such the better team the refs wouldn't have even played a factor...both teams were pretty even IMO...and if Seattle's defense doesn't let Pitts WR throw a TD its still a 4 point ball game...that was the key play in mind for that game plus missed FGs and WTF was that before the half...neither team looked that great nor did I think one team was far better then the other...I don't know after seeing that crowd before the game I just kind of thought and had the feeling it was going to go Pitts way in which it did
