computer help -- KMA? anybody?

i can stay online for about 2 minutes, if that, and then a box pops up saying my computer is going to shut down.

WINNT\system32\lsass.exe is part of the message i get.

i can't update anything because i can't stay online long enough to get it updated. what can i do now?

i am leaving out of town and won't be back until the 24th but i hope to be able to fix it when i get back. maybe i can save some updates to a disk to have ready when i get back?

i'll be back online tonight so any help would be appreciated.

i use xp on that machine.

btw, i havent used that computer for over a month, maybe 6 weeks so my norton isnt updated and i cant stay online long enough to get the updates. same with adaware.

It sounds like you have the same virus that I had.....back when it was in full swing sometime last year. It's a virus that attacks a hole in XP....and shuts your computer down before you have a chance to do anything about it.


I called a tech.....and through I believe system restore.....he was able to take my computer back in time....before it became infected.....and was able to fix it that way. Call a tech for whatever company you bought your computer and tell them what its doing. I'm sure they'll be able to walk you through it.
