states rights issues=change by we the people

Arizona voters approved a measure banning affirmative action programs by state and local governments based on race, ethnicity or sex.

_Washington state's voters repealed taxes on candy, soda and bottled water adopted by lawmakers last year ? a move that could eliminate a projected $352 million in revenue over five years. Voters rejected a proposal to impose a state income tax on any income above $200,000, or $400,000 for couples.

_In the littlest state, voters chose to keep the longest formal name ? opting to stay as Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, instead of just Rhode Island.

_In Illinois, where the two most recent former governors have been convicted on federal charges, voters approved an amendment that enable future governors to be recalled by popular vote.

_Oklahoma voters approved a proposed amendment aimed at nullifying the segment of the new federal health care law requiring people to have health insurance. Similar measures were on the ballots in Arizona and Colorado.

In Oklahoma, voters overwhelmingly passed three measures that had dismayed some progressive and immigrants-rights groups. One makes English the state's "common and unifying language," another requires a government-issued photo ID in order to vote, and the third prohibits state courts from considering international law or Islamic law when deciding cases.

_In Colorado, voters rejected three measures that would have banned borrowing for public works, cut the income tax and slashed school district property taxes. Opponents said the proposals would have cost the state $2.1 billion in revenue and eliminated tens of thousands of jobs.
_For the first time since the 1990s, there were no measures to ban same-sex marriage. But in Iowa, voters ousted three state Supreme Court justices who joined a unanimous 2009 ruling that legalized gay marriage there.

"the bunker"
in nevada and cali ,they have among thee highest unemployment and foreclosure rates in the country....harry reid has a horrible favorability rating....jerry brown is a retread who never had a plan the first time he was elected( and admitted as much).....a faded hippie who gained office on the coattails of his old man....

yet the morons in nevada and cali reelected them...in a perverted sort of way, theres justice in what happened in cali and nevada...you reap what you sow...

the good part of this clusterf-ck?....the house changed hands and there are enough dems up for reelection in the senate in 2 years that are so scared to death by what happened to their compadres in the house this year, that it will be impossible for obama to go forward with his socialist agenda....

and even if he doesn`t learn from clinton in 94`and pursues his agenda,,there will be a firewalll in the house to keep the rest of us from having to subsudize the idiots on the west coast......

bailouts will be few and far between from here on out...

As I see it. Not the blood bath the Republicans suffered after 8 years of Bush. Now a couple of years of really nothing getting done. The economy slowly getting better. Should keep the working people from rioting in the streets at least. First Bristol Palin wins Dancing With The Stars then her mother becomes President. Then the working people take it to the streets.:0008

It is not high on my priority list as I even missed it in initial thread--but would have voted no myself just on drug issue--if they can vote nationally against 2nd hand cigarette smoke--I'm going jump at chance to veto having to smell a burning joint :)

THE GREAT DIVIDE...

Republicans thundered into the majority in the House of Representatives Tuesday night, making historic gains by a proportion not seen in more than 70 years.

I see you still got that liberal :00x7 syndrome Stevie. :)

When final #'s are in I believe they'll will even surpass Clintons 1994-

As for GW--did you know he never lost an election and actually had more votes on 2nd term than 1st.

in fact -believe yesteday emphatically answered one question--

Right behind you
After The 8 Years Of The Bush/Cheney Disaster, Now You Get Mad?

You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.

You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate Energy policy and push us to invade Iraq .

You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.

You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.

You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.

You didn't get mad when we spent over 800 billion (and counting) on said illegal war.

You didn't get mad when Bush borrowed more money from foreign sources than the previous 42 Presidents combined.

You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars in cash just disappeared in Iraq .

You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.

You didn't get mad when Bush embraced trade and outsourcing policies that shipped 6 million American jobs out of the country.

You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping
Americans.

You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden. You didn't get mad when Bush rang up 10 trillion dollars in combined budget and current account deficits.

You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.

You didn't get mad when we let a major US city, New Orleans , drown.

You didn't get mad when we gave people who had more money than they could spend, the filthy rich, over a trillion dollars in tax breaks.

You didn't get mad with the worst 8 years of job creations in several
decades.

You didn't get mad when over 200,000 US Citizens lost their lives because they had no health insurance.

You didn't get mad when lack of oversight and regulations from the Bush Administration caused US Citizens to lose 12 trillion dollars in
investments, retirement, and home values.

You finally got mad when a black man was elected President and decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick.

Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, job losses by the millions,
stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, and the worst economic disaster since 1929 are all okay with you, but helping fellow Americans who are sick...Oh, Hell No!!

Where would you have to smell a burning joint?

Are you not concerned about the amount of money we waste going after people smoking pot?

Do you drink alcohol?

Alcohol is a way worse drug then marijuana.

Then again you really do not have a thought of your own, you just go with whatever the republicans tell you to think.

There is almost always a power shift after the first two years of a presidency. People dislike whomever is in power.

I do not believe people miss Bush. You may have blinders on and are just a puppet who can not think for his self.

Bush was one of the worst presidents ever.

If Bush was not such a giant fuck up Obama would not have gotten elected.

Bush was the reason the dems took over the senate and house, people were sick of watching him turn everything to shit.

It was pretty obvious that NO ONE could have come in after Bush and cleaned shit up in two years.

I do not believe there is much of a difference between dems and repubs but I do believe that people like you are more concerned with your party winning than the country improving.

So you will be for banning alcohol?

Since alcohol is worse for people?

Or do you have to wait until the republicans come out and tell you that it should be banned?

As soon as someone tells you what to think you can get back to me.

No matter what happens, I have to say I'm happy Marco Rubio won, after seeing him in the pic with his wife today. Wow, he did pretty well...

Exactly Shawn. Do you think Dogs has ever thought about any issue beyond his initial knee-jerk reaction to regurgitate his insipid, hackneyed talking points?
