Look, it's just as Darwin says. Survival of the fittest/smartest.

It;s just nature taking out the more stupid of us - happens all the time.

He did breed though...hope the kids evolve .....

The kids cant "evolve" you dimwit. Evolution takes generations, or at least a genetic mutation.

If its survival of the smartest, you have until about Thursday.

Darwin never wrote "survival of the fittest".

And tho the target of evolution is the individual, one of Darwin's great innovations was his rejection of thinking in types, which has prevailed in science since Pythagoras. Evolution works thru populations achieving differential reproductive success and hence it almost never can be cogently argued that this or that particular individual expresses the workings of evolution.

Being an aussie I was shocked to hear that this had happened. Huge news down under atm as you could imagine. He was an aussie icon who did alot more for the country than most would know. We be sadly missed!

I agree, but this guy wasnt wrapped too tight. Isnt he the one who held his infant son in one hand and teased an alligator or something with the other?

This was just a matter of time. Feel for his family and kids. RIP.

Come on, that isn't even in the neighborhood of what happened.

Agent, where did I state what neighborhood he was in??? I just said it was a matter of time before that kind of lifestyle catches up to you.

I mean, seriously......when you deal with nature's creatures and you continuously invade THEIR habitats, you're bound to unnerve one and cause their defenses to take over. You disagree with this? IF so, your brain is on vacation.

I didnt say he got what he deserved. I would never think that. But it didnt surprise me...and to be honest, anyone who does that for a living aint wrapped all that tight. But that was his choice and he died doing what he loved. I feel bad for what happened to him.

RIP Steve.

With his knowledge and skill, he is usually in no more danger than us driving down the road, IMO.

Dawg

if we was French kissing a crock I would agree with you. Not that I know as much as other posters here, but I think he was involved with something he didn't have the expertise to handle. Methinks a more skilled person in his situation may not have been in his situation.

No doubt, IO. As for my comment, it says that he is "usually in no more danger". With that, I meant when he is with reptiles and other creatures that he may be the most skilled in the world.

Him being near a croc or alligator is no more dangerous than a skilled pilot flying 13 tons of metal and people through the air.

I don't understand why people hint that he is not all there because of his profession. He was passionate about nature. yeah, he was goofy, but I would say he is on the higher end of intelligence.

Not looking to make a mockery over someone's death, but my comment in particular wasnt subtle nor a hint. The man played with an alligator while holding his infant son in the other arm. He may have known all about animals, yes, but higher end of intelligence, I doubt it. Sorry, but I cant defend shit like that. I dont care if that alligator at the time was more sedated than Beantown's latest date. You cant be "all there" and do shit like that.

Other than that, I agree with most opinions on the matter.

Wasn't even commentng on that part of your statement..but I am not surprised you couldn't figure that out either.

I will do my best to draw you a picture....

I agree, but this guy wasnt wrapped too tight. Isnt he the one who held his infant son in one hand and teased an alligator or something with the other?

NO! What he did was feed an alligator that he had fed about 1 million times before while holding his infant son. Not so different than people who have dogs in their home, and bring home a new baby. It may seem completely insane to you, but that baby was in no more danger than any other time in his life such as being in a car seat going down the interstate...SIDS...being dropped (see Britney Spears)..or anything else. BUT, realizing this would mean forming an educated opinion on your own VS hearing some fourth hand interpretation from someone else and regurgitating it as fact.

But it didnt surprise me...and to be honest, anyone who does that for a living aint wrapped all that tight

This happens to be your opinion, which doesn't hold much weight with me right now. Never had a problem with you, but I disagree with you on this subject.

I wonder what you do for a living???

I've read conflicting reports where one said he died instantly and the other said he actually pulled the barb from his chest.

Agent.....you say "What he did was feed an alligator that he had fed about 1 million times before while holding his infant son. Not so different than people who have dogs in theor home, and bring home a new baby.".

LOL Thanks for putting that in perspective. What was I thinking?????

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. Thats life. I have no problem with you either. Just dont agree with your perspective on this. Enough said I guess.

.....and to answer your last question, I am a mathematician for the Defense Department.

p.s. Just for the record, with your reputation around here, I really dont give a rat's ass what does hold weight with you haha
