I think the current administration went 1-2-1 with Cheney/Edwards pushing, Kerry winning the first two and Bush winning last night.

An answer that sums up what Kerry is all about was his answer about border control. He first bashes the current administration basically blaming them for all of our border woes. Then he goes on to say "And I have a plan to fix this and here is exactly what I am going to fo" (raised closed fist). Kerry then goes on to say absolutely nothing about what he is going to do. He stated for the record that he was going to do whatever it takes to shut the borders down.

Well, no ****ing shit, you moron. Don't you think past Presidents have wanted to do the same thing. Bush, Clinton, Bush Sr. all wanted to get a grip on our borders. But it takes MONEY and a PLAN. Not just to say you are going to shut them down.

I really don't see how people can vote for this guy.

Back to the scoring of last night's debate. From the first question where Kerry had the first answer, he simply attacked Bush whether or not it made sense to or not. I think the reason why he won the first two debates is because he was aggressive but not directly attacking. When he asks Bush to explain why he did certain things is when he is at his best. Last night, I thought he was out of control.

Bush had some really good answers to mission critical questions such as how his faith affects his policy and what he would say to someone who has lost their job to outsourcing.

Outsourcing is not going anywhere, people. It is a fact of life that the global economy is getting more geared up each day. We can either find our place in it, or we can keep crying over lost jobs. Kerry criticized Bush last night for bringing up education when asked about jobs. I think this shows that he does not understand that education is the only way for us and our children to continue to compete in the world.

I don't have a problem with outsourcing because it is inevitable. I think the bigger problem we face is the transition period that is swiftly approaching. What do we do for the people that are losing jobs currently? I don't know, and it is not an easy answer. But I can promise that Kerry does not have a real plan to magically create jobs that he so desperately criticizes Bush for.

Kerry brought up his health plan last night which was the first thing that I have actually heard him line out a plan for. I hated the idea based ont he fact that he is saying that you will have a choice. The fact is that if a business has employees that can be on the government-run health care plan and eliminate that expense off of their books, there will not be a choice. It would be bad business to do so.

Other than that, Kerry still has not said anything except that HE has plans about EVERYTHING, but he rarely says what that plan is. Saying that you are going to shut down the border is not a plan; that is an idea.

Anyway, after that ramble, I thought Bush did much better last night and won the debate.

Bush has a good answer for people losing their jobs to outsourcing now thats comical!!!! I think both of them expressed their faith very well, this has always been a strong suit for Bush but Kerry also did well expressing his beliefs to the point of damaging this as an attack issue. What new ideas did Bush present, I watched the debate but I didn't hear any? To say either won this debate is a reach I score the summary on the debates 2-0-2 in favor of Kerry!

What's comical, MC? He was asked what he would say to someone who has lost their job. If you blame Bush completely for the jobs lost, you are not informed on how things work. His answer last night was a very good answer. You can believe that Bush wants to best for American citizens (just as Kerry does). I can not verbatim quote what Bush's answer last night was. To sum it up, he said that our economy is recovering, we are working hard to create new jobs, we are working hard to make our country better educated, and you are not alone. I'm sure the transcript is on the internet somewhere if you want to read it.

Actually, I don't think Bush has ever explained his faith and how it relates to his policy to people who are not of the same belief before last night. Also, Kerry does not expain his faith well. He loves to talk about being Catholic and being an alter boy, and he wants to portray that he is a man of great faith...but not too much because that would damage his credibility with liberal voters. Once again, he wants to have it both ways.

The folks being asked to give feed back on debates. No ?? Kerry 3 & 0. Ed & Dick a tie. However I gave it to Dick. But I count as much as dawgball does with my opinion. Not much because no one asked. Who are these people. Undeside voters. 200 by CBS. 20 by ABC. 20 by CNN, 15 MSNBC. Fox was how many wanted to send email and vote. And were not just undeside voters. Zogby was 100 again undeside voters. Hey they said Kerry won all three. But did they say who they would vote for NO. And give Fox credit they did call 2nd debate a draw. So I guess those folks are a good gauge as to how the debates went. But does it mean election goes for Kerry? Don't know for 19 days. But Bush sure has lost a big lead in all the last polls taken. In two polls he is now behind. So It looks close.

Dawgball,

I truly respect your opinion but I think that you are way off on praising his answer to someone that has lost his job do to outsourcing. Tell me what you would do in this situation lets say you have a family and your 45 years old and you have worked in a pottery factory for 25 years, in this time you have worked hard to move up and paid your dues to get that bump in pay but then one day you are told that your services are no longer needed that the company is relocating your job to Sri Lanka but we want you to stay on a month to train your replacement. At this point in your life it would be safe to assume that you have a mortgage, one or two car loans and while you have tried to save for a rainy day you just have never been able to accumulate a large amount of funds. Now this job loss couldn't of come at a worse time for you as you have always dreamed of sending Butch to college and your daughter Ella Mae needs braces, the job market in your area is stagnant with jobs similar to yours but there are alot of jobs paying half of what you were making such as a management position at Hardee's paying $8.00 hour with no benefits. How do you think you would regard Bush's theory that you need more education? Who's is going to pay your mortgage? Where will you get health care benefits for your two years at Community College? What about my credit card payments and car loans will they go on hiatus while I listen to his wisdom and get more education? While education may be one of the roots of the problems that American'are facing this education must be started from the ground up that begins with the children of today and tomorrow. I found his answer to be very cold and lacking any compassion for his fellow Americans! Perhaps in your state the economy has picked up but I suggest you read a very good article in yesterdays Akron newspaper that highlighted the life of Terry Adams, you may recall that Adams was held hostage from 1985 to 1993 by terrorists in Iran and during this ordeal he spent over 90% of the time blindfolded and shackled in a closed off room. Today Adams is running for a State Representative seat in Ohio and although he received a large cash settlement for his ordeal from frozen funds held against Iran, he has taken these funds and poured them back into the community. Adams hails from Southern Ohio the Appalachia part where the poverty level may be one of the highest in the country and the article tells of jobs that were in that area for over 100 years disappearing overnight with no employer filling the void as these factories just sit empty and these people are left with no hope since they lack the funds to relocate and they have very little education. Do you think his answer would make these people have hope?

i have to be honest and say that bush couldn`t win a debate vs mushmouth of the cosby kids.....he`s horrible....even worse when they show reaction shots while kerry`s speaking..

he could be the worst debater i`ve ever laid eyes on this side of internet founder al gore.....gore may be the biggest phony on the political scene...and that covers alot of territory...

that said, kerry is all pre-fab and statistics......comes off as a stiff mannequin....with as much compassion as john lee malvo and john muhammad.....

i can`t imagine what would happen if colin powell, john mccain or a bill richardson were running......vs either of these guys....

it would be a slam dunk....

i left out hillary on purpose...but as much as i dislike hil, she`d probably whip george like a red headed stepchild is they threw down in a debate...

what a pair.....both parties are clueless...

that said....c`mon george......you may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but i am a fan of powell and cheney....

insert sneers and insults here....

if we had the 200 billion that g.w. spent on this war for oil or if we had all the money he gave away to the rich we could afford a lot of border patrol

we don't have 200 billion - gw goes to the treasury and says print me up some long green. george, you need collateral they say. i have the american people as collateral.
but george, there are more people dying than being born.
not to worry says george-i'll give every family a $570 tax credit to have children.
Now, I am not making this up so let's not have some domino-eared moron try to play it off.

MC--thanks for the response, but I did not say that someone who lost their job is going to be on cloud 9 after Bush's statement. What CAN one say to the situation you laid out? I felt/feel that the statements made by Bush were positive. You may not like Bush, and I understand why. What do you think Kerry is going to do to make jobs magically re-appear? The world is in a time of transition. Are there going to be people like the one your story described? Sadly, yes. I feel that it is more important for our President to work on details of how we can presently and in the days to come, position our citizens to compete. I feel that the problem is that we, as a country, have become incredibly lazy because we have been the top dog for so long. Now, we are basically in a state of crisis. I, for one, don't think this is a problem that has just popped up in the last four years, though. The numbers that Kerry throws out are not to be believed fully.

We have to stop crying and pointing fingers, and individually get back to doing what made this country great. Hand-outs and poor-me stories were not headliners.
