I think the current administration went 1-2-1 with Cheney/Edwards pushing, Kerry winning the first two and Bush winning last night.
An answer that sums up what Kerry is all about was his answer about border control. He first bashes the current administration basically blaming them for all of our border woes. Then he goes on to say "And I have a plan to fix this and here is exactly what I am going to fo" (raised closed fist). Kerry then goes on to say absolutely nothing about what he is going to do. He stated for the record that he was going to do whatever it takes to shut the borders down.
Well, no ****ing shit, you moron. Don't you think past Presidents have wanted to do the same thing. Bush, Clinton, Bush Sr. all wanted to get a grip on our borders. But it takes MONEY and a PLAN. Not just to say you are going to shut them down.
I really don't see how people can vote for this guy.
Back to the scoring of last night's debate. From the first question where Kerry had the first answer, he simply attacked Bush whether or not it made sense to or not. I think the reason why he won the first two debates is because he was aggressive but not directly attacking. When he asks Bush to explain why he did certain things is when he is at his best. Last night, I thought he was out of control.
Bush had some really good answers to mission critical questions such as how his faith affects his policy and what he would say to someone who has lost their job to outsourcing.
Outsourcing is not going anywhere, people. It is a fact of life that the global economy is getting more geared up each day. We can either find our place in it, or we can keep crying over lost jobs. Kerry criticized Bush last night for bringing up education when asked about jobs. I think this shows that he does not understand that education is the only way for us and our children to continue to compete in the world.
I don't have a problem with outsourcing because it is inevitable. I think the bigger problem we face is the transition period that is swiftly approaching. What do we do for the people that are losing jobs currently? I don't know, and it is not an easy answer. But I can promise that Kerry does not have a real plan to magically create jobs that he so desperately criticizes Bush for.
Kerry brought up his health plan last night which was the first thing that I have actually heard him line out a plan for. I hated the idea based ont he fact that he is saying that you will have a choice. The fact is that if a business has employees that can be on the government-run health care plan and eliminate that expense off of their books, there will not be a choice. It would be bad business to do so.
Other than that, Kerry still has not said anything except that HE has plans about EVERYTHING, but he rarely says what that plan is. Saying that you are going to shut down the border is not a plan; that is an idea.
Anyway, after that ramble, I thought Bush did much better last night and won the debate.
