I read this heartbreaking post just now and was moved to tears. I have 3 and 2 year old boys myself and cannot imagine how much this family is suffering.

Hey guys, I know I don't post much but I am on here everyday and have been a long time member and value all of your information alot. My family needs your prayers, my wife and 2 small children were hit by a drunk driver this past Friday night on the I210 bridge in Lake Charles. All three were sent to LSU medical center in Shreveport that night. My wife Buffy has a fractured pelvis, a hole in her lung, a laciration on her liver, and some other injuries. My 7 year old daughter Kristin had a small bleed in her brain, but has since been given a clean bill of health, and should be out of the hospital on Tuesday. My youngest 5 year old Garrett was not so lucky, he had massive head trauma and the doctors did everything they could do for him but he just could not fight anymore. He pasted away Saturday around 3:30 pm. He was my pride and joy and wanted to be a fireman just like dad. We took them to thier first LSU game this year for the Troy game, yes we stayed till the end, and he fell in love with LSU. Since that time all he talked about was LSU, anything he would see in the store that had LSU on it he would beg us to buy for him. We lost our little man and LSU lost a great future tiger fan this weekend. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, and as Garrett would say GEAUX TIGERS LSU

Like most folks I know, I have driven drunk soooo many times that it's embarrassing. I am going to make an effort to not drive under the influence EVER again.

Honestly can't believe how selfish I used to be with drinking and driving. Kids change everything. Can't even imagine what he's going through right now.

I have told this in here before.

I stopped drinking and driving one night after waking up with a severe hangover and I could not remember driving home or where my car was.

I got up and went to a upstairs window. My car was parked on the lawn next to a big oak tree.

that was it for me.

its ok to kill yourself. but not put other familys in danger from your own drunken decisions that can change lives forever

agree. i used to have a fairly casual attitude towards having a few beers and driving somewhere if i had to.

Once I started having to drive kids around my attitude changed. I get looked at funny now at family functions when i won't drink at all because I gotta drive the lil monsters home later that night.

of course, with my luck.. i'll be stone cold sober and some dipsh*t will end up hitting me.

Sad story.

I was lucky enough to get busted for DUI back in January of 2003...before I killed myself or someone else. I've managed to keep my drinking confined to the house or have had someone else in charge of driving me home when I go out. It has worked out well.

I used to run with a crew that all had DUIs, except for one guy, my good buddy Rudy. Last time I saw Rudy, he was in a casket. He was killed in a one car accident. Unfortunately, he never learned. Even though he was riding shotgun when I got mine, Chad got his, Chris got his, and Deke got his, he never learned.

Sucks. I wish people would learn.

cant tell you how many times in 25 years my dumbass drove home so drove home so drunk that when I woke up the next morning {or afternoon} and looked outside to see if my car was there:scared

I feel more fortunate that I didnt mess up and hurt some innocent people than I do for being lucky to get myself home!
