There really isn't any tricks to losing weight. Don't over think the program. Look at it as a way to feel better. When you do that, you'll have more success. Exercising of some sort, possibly daily, is a must.

I'm in retail, and the weight loss gimmicks come and go. People actually end up gaining weight after one plan or another fails them.

I'm not preaching, but eat what you want in smaller portions and at the right times (as others have noted). You don't have to power lift or run a marathon to get in exercise JACK. Anything to increase your heart rate over an extended period of time daily will be beneficial.

I have lost 39 lbs. primarily watching my fat grams. I have a physical job so that helps but I also do 3 miles at least 4-5 days a week on the treadmill. Dropped my cholesterol from 255 to 138. All this since the middle of October.:00hour

5 mph or a 12 minute mile. I do this with an incline of 4.5. If I don't jog all the way then I power walk at 4 mph (15 minute mile) while carring 3 pound weights with each hand. Feel so much better since I have taken the weight off and got back into shape.
Our treadmill is a Pro Form 545s. Has power incline and built in programs (I use my own). Also came with a fan witch is nice.

Thanks again to everyone for the encouragement. Been going to the gym daily for a 35 minute walk on the treadmill and some light upper body weights. Feeling great and the pounds are starting to really come off! :00hour :00hour

Franky, in my opinion you want to look at something with a wider belt and longer platform and is steady when you're reallly moving on it. Also something with a good quality motor. Had all the "to look for's" before but can't remember them now. If you're looking at one as a lifetime thing don't be afraid to spend the $$$$. I bought just a standard with no bells and whistles and spend good $$$$ on it and that was about 6 years ago. It has many many miles on it and will still be getting many more. Only repair I had to have done was the board shorted out once and this year had to replace the belt. I never get bored with it as I always run different ways. Today, ran at 4.5 for 10 minutes, then up to 5, then 5.5, then 6 and back down to 4.5, all for 1 minute each for the last 20 minutes. The last 2 minutes were at 6.5 then 7.0 for the last. Had my heartrate elevated to 159 in the final 2 minutes which is close to my max of 165 for my age. Then the old cool-down.
GL in your search.

Gotta brag a little... went to the doctor on Monday morning and I've lost another 23 pounds since the middle of February. :00hour I'm down almost 50 since the end of December. Plus my blood pressure is way down as well. Hopefully the warm weather will be here to stay and I can start playing golf again and hop on the bike for a morning ride.
