NFL fans that don't have access to DirecTV's satellite-based TV service will have the ability to buy the provider's exclusive NFL Sunday Ticket package for the first time this season.

DirecTV will sell Sunday Ticket (which allows fans to watch all the NFL games each week) via an internet package to non-DirecTV subscribers.

It's an extension of a program that began in New York City last year and is rolling out nationwide this season. But it's aimed at fans who aren't able to access DirecTV service, which requires a satellite with a clear south-facing view. Customers will need to verify that they aren't able to access DirecTV.

The cost of the package is $350. :scared It's part of an enhancement of Sunday Ticket this season, which includes making HD broadcasts and DirecTV's red zone and game mix channels included in its main package for subscribers. Those features were formerly sold as part of the "Superfan" package that cost Sunday Ticket subscribers an additional $100.

The Sunday Ticket broadband service is similar to NFL.com's Preseason Live, which allows fans to watch multiple games at once in near-HD video quality. DirecTV's Jon Gieselman told the New York Daily News that the service will include a "full 720p HD resolution stream."

Ordering for Sunday Ticket's main package is already open. DirecTV will begin selling the package for non-subscribers on its website in the week before Week 1 kicks off in earnest on Sept. 12.
