i think a guy just got thrown in jail pulling this kind of stuff. When Lenny played in Philly my mom told me that she was sitting in front of his accountant (during a game)and overheard the accountant saying that if u asked Lenny to give u change for a dollar he wouldn't be able to do it. Good read tho

Love the part where he even milked his mom.

pretty funny that a guy like spongy(who probably lives in his mom`s basement) is making fun of dykstra, who`s juggling million dollar deals...

he`s an entrepreneur...any capitalist...anybody that doesn`t require gub`ment cheese is a heel to spongy...

the guy seems like he plays in the financial world much like he played baseball....100% effort....hard, with no quarter given....

don`t know how much of the article was correct...certainly seemed like a pretty one-sided hit piece from here...

Funny guy. Did u even read the article? He sounds just like people u support. Ripping people off left and right and then calling them hard working capitalist. Calling them capitalist while destruction lies in their path. I have laid out numerous times what i have done for a living. How hard i worked but u dodge the question every single time. Not that i care what u do but u sound like a bigger fraud every time u open ur mouth.

Yep. All the pilots, all the lawyers, his brother, his mother, the publisher and the 22 other entities that are owed money are all lying.

He does seem to be your sort of 'capitalist', though.

Yeah, its pretty one sided all right. .. :142smilie
Even members of Dykstra's family are lined up on the list of those to whom he owes money. His older brother, Brian, has yet to collect a $12,000 judgment awarded by the California Labor Relations Board. His younger brother, Kevin, alleges Dykstra cheated him out of $4 million on the sale of the family-run car washes, though Kevin hasn't filed suit.

On April 16, Terri, Dykstra's wife of more than 20 years and the mother of their three boys, filed for divorce. Through her attorney, she declined to comment for this story.

The family rift runs so deep that until recently, Dykstra had spoken to his mother only once in the past three years, according to his brothers, and wasn't allowing her any contact with his sons, her grand children.

Last month, though, on March 23, Dykstra picked up the phone and woke up his mother with a call at around 6 in the morning, according to Kevin Dykstra, his younger brother. Lenny was stranded in Cleveland. He wanted to charter a jet so he could get to a business meeting on the West Coast, and his credit cards were maxed out. He needed nearly $23,000 and asked his mother for it, Kevin says.

His mother agreed to let him use her credit card.

Kevin Dykstra says she has yet to be repaid.

"He had no money," says Lenny's brother. "He is on the phone, crying to my mom, saying he has got to get home and he is in Cleveland, Ohio. He asked my mom to put up her credit card for 23 grand. That is just sick, dude.

"The whole family is mad and she is all sad, saying he caught her off guard. She was asleep. He was crying to her, man."

About the use of his mother's credit card, Dykstra says, "Listen to me, the millions of dollars I've spent on them -- I mean, I don't know what you're talking about. That is why I can't talk to you no more."

Dykstra met twice in person with a reporter for this story in early March, and spoke as well in several phone interviews; but over the past month, he repeatedly declined interview requests to discuss new allegations raised by family members and former employees until that quick comment on April 17.

he put $23000 on his mother`s credit card?..who is his mother?....j.paul getty?.....of course that came from his brother(who has an axe to grind)....

i wonder how much his family glommed off him when he was making big bucks as a superstar?...

any mention of that?...

i guess the fact that we are living through a time in our history in which many people ,businesses, industries involved in the financial sector are experiencing extremely hard times is lost on you two geniuses....

seems like until the economy and the market started heading south,he was doing pretty well for himself....

if the article is accurate, he`s hit some hard times along with many banks,companies,investors,401k`s yada yada.....

he`s a risk taker...a self-made man...a guy who stands or falls on his own merit....

that`s how he played..obviously that`s how he lives his life...

he`s not much different than many other successful people that have hit hard times in this recession...

at least he`s not a coward like this fanny mae scumbag that took his own life and left children and a family behind...

and he`s not dependent on the government tit(like some guys i know)....

seems like his whole family was dependent on him and when the bottom fell out, they expected to get blood out of a stone....

a little lesson to be learned there about self reliance...

If you didn't notice, his family comprised a very small % of the stiffed folks.

Did the publisher, pilots, lawyers and all the rest also have an 'ax to grind?'

It's pretty easy to be 'self-reliant' when you stiff everybody you do business with.

So the brother, who ran the car washes for years, isn't entitled to the 10% that was apparently agreed on.

You're the one making assumptions regarding how much money he 'gave' his family, but that's beside the point.

I'm asking, do you believe they are all lying?

It's incredible that you're defending this guy.

Thanks for posting sponge, I tend to agree with gardenweasel, seems like there is an agenda in the article, probably mostly true but some of it seems fabricated to make it look bad for Nails

You're just looking ridiculous. I am very far from J. Paul Getty and I have cards with bigger limits than that. What's so unbelieveable about that?

How about him firing and stiffing the pilots because they wouldn't pay for his jet fuel? lol

How reliant is it to ask your mom to let you use her credit card to pay $23,000 for a chartered jet to get to a business meeting?

That's a guy who "stands on his own merit?"

Seems like a strange story to take such a strong stand on, even for you, Wease. Guessing you still have some Dykstra rookie cards in your shoebox, or something?

nice that you failed to address my points(just like the political forum)....

you think it`s unusual that a heavy hitter in the stock market or the financial field is suffering given the recession and the effect it`s had on the economy?...

l`d like to hear more about the family...and how they became dependent on dykstra..his brothers should be ashamed of themselves...grown men dependent on their brother....

i don`t feel sorry for them...

i guess,if the article is true, they expected dykstra to shit money?...

based on the "one-sided" tone of the article,i`d say it was a hit job and only provides one side of the story....

dykstra was quoted in several instances......but of course,we know how interviews can be parsed and edited to suit one`s agenda....

i`d also like to know moere about the mother ...you know, with a $23000 dollar credit card line of credit?(something tells me that dykstra didn`t come from a rich family)...

amazing how quickly the sheeple jump on a guy who had success when he hits hard times....

guess it makes you lefties feel better about yourselves...
