I like how he judges that I don't believe in God because I don't just hop along side of him and thump the bible and rub it in people's faces that don't believe in God. What if I'm wrong?....he asks. hahaha.

exactly. Just another intolerant bible thumper trying to hide his intolerance by being extremely condescending towards those who don't believe exactly the way they do.

"the bunker"
How come athletes are the opposite? I also always notice athletes who wear their politics on a sleeve tend to be Republicans or conservative Dems (ex Heath Schuler). Just an observation, not taking sides.

if by "wearing on their sleeves" you mean that they thank god after winning a fight or a big game, then i guess that`s pretty self explanatory....

they believe they derive their "mental strength" or "will to win"...their ability to train hard and persevere to their faith....

i don`t understand why that grates on atheists....that`s about as benign an act as it can possibly be,.....hurts no one...

and that`s where the real"intolerance" rears it`s ugly head....shows who the truly intolerant are in a country who`s founding document lists freedom of/or from religion in the first amendment...

at least in the usa...

very well said - tolerance goes both ways - respecting another opinion or faith thru a civil conversation is rare- such in this thread -very well said

Dude....you can't have it both ways. You're the one who is intolerant of others viewpoints. Go back and read some of what you said. If you look at what you said through unbaised eyes, you'd read the same condescending tone that most of us read.

So what you are saying....with a straight face.....is that you didn't mean to have a condescending tone about ANY of your posts?

Garden, I may have used the wrong term. I just didn't want "race" to enter the argument. Those athletes who we "KNOW" what there politics are are usually Republicans. Do you remember when some wanted MJ to become more political and he said "Those Republicans buy tennis shoes, too." ?

I'm still trying to figure out where intelligence makes one a liberal. I live in a state ran by Dems forever and we are pretty low in most catagories dealing in education.

I don't even know why I'm choosing to chime in on all of this... but this thread certainly has "opened my eyes" on how certain individuals think around here (not intended to be a personal jab at anyone)
My question to the "bible thumpers" is....
So God is OK with your "gambling endeavors"? I thought gambling was forbidden to the all holy clan? Apparently its OK if you contribute a healthy sum to the "offering" each church session?
I was brought up "believing" but there is so much far fetched shit in the bible, how can anyone but a simple minded person believe it?
Parting of the red sea? Gimme a break

PaSprint......organized religion causes people to become complete idiots and lose all logical thought.

That sums it up.

I say let those who are not menacing the rest of us believe what they want to believe. There are good folks on both teams, and I am glad to know, love and respect members on either side of the fence:toast:
