My uncle Matt was the paymaster for the company that built the Golden Gate Bridge (This notoriety comes under the heading of "questionable qualifier".)

Cie, coincidentally, my grandfather made numerous recordings throughout Spain, including Galicia in 1952, and some of those recordings included the work songs of fisherman. I guess your dads cousin would have only been 10 years old, but maybe they crossed paths.

My uncle, Dom Flora. Although this was a long, long time ago and his story didn't have a happy ending.

1958 NCAA College Basketball All-American along with Oscar Robertson and Jerry West to name a few.

At the time his career at Washington and Lee was over, he was the 5th highest scorer in NCAA history.

I didn't know this one but just read it on Wiki and it blew my mind....as of the 2010 season, he's still in the top 25 all-time for made free throws.

Was drafted by the Celtics and broke his ankle early in his first season. Medicine is not what it is today and it ended his career. It may not qualify as 'famous' but pretty cool if you ask me :0074
