Does anybody here pay any attention to Angie's List?

no, I have one Angie already in my life that keeps me quite busy

But probably not a bad thing to be on it for your business......do you have to pay to be on it? If so, that defeats the purpose of truly being good companies if you can buy your way on

My daughter used a contractor from them and got taken for about 5 grand. Seems she wasn't the only one and he ended up in jail.
Evidently they don't check the reliability of anyone they have listed.

That's why I don't pay for it. Many contractors pay for it though. I had someone come out to tile my kitchen floor and they said you don't look at Angie's List? I said hell no, it costs to be a member. I looked into it once. Could care less about it. I think a lot of contractors, real estate agents, etc. look at it though.

I get a monthly booklet that lists ads and ads and ads plus has a listing of the good guys and the bad guys. 
Something interesting is this company has not made a profit ever, but keeps getting investors and people to buy stock.
Our president of my current company was just announced to be the new COO starting March 1st. The guy is solid, and I hope he can turn them around

Jack... The company I work for ( part time retired ) belong to the BBB I think we have a AA or AAA rating. You would be suprised of how many people ask if we belong especially Seniors. Also it looks good on all of our advertising. We contemplated Angies List & talked to our fellow agents & it just seemed customers never used it as a reference.
