I'm somewhat surprised at some of your guys responses, others not so much.
Did it ever occur to anyone that her asking your opinion on something like that is a very considerate thing to do? She's your wife/wives and she absolutely knows that you don't care about such things, yet she risks ridicule and rejection to include you in her process anyway. Not saying that you're wrong for being apathetic about it at all. I'm saying that it's a selfless and loving gesture on her part. Maybe acknowledging that kindness while communicating your indifference to the actual comforter itself would go a long way in absolving you from future similar chores. Just a thought

Oh BULLSHIT!

She's taking the long way around to ask if she can get it. If I picked one and it was not the one she wanted, she would get her pick anyway.

Yeah, if she's going to spend a few hundred bucks on something she knows I don't think we need, she asks. She found out several things when she brought it up. She found out that I don't think we need one, she found out that I don't care what color she gets, and she found out it's okay to get it.

Painted this past winter (living room twice) believe me it doesn't end with just painting. There are new curtains, new interior doors, door casings and carpet. I could go on and on????..

I just tell my wife to get what she wants.

When she asks if I like the one that she likes I just say ya, ya, ya that looks great :D Even if I hate it I say this. With sheets or comforters, we're going to get new ones every couple of months because we have small dogs that tear the shit out of them. Perfect way to keep the wife happy.

She once painted the walls orange in one room in our house and I hated it, but I just said that looks great. Then after a few months went by I subtly suggested they would probably look better in cream or white. She came back after a month or two and made the decision she wanted to paint them cream. The key is letting them think they are in charge. In all actuality, you can get them to change their mind.
