That's why I've made myself pretty scarce around these parts lately. Maybe, instead of just making picks, discussing a VERLY interlesting race will pick things up? How bout that Canadian Turf race? I know there's plenty of Canadians around here; just check Jack's Tennis Bawl Room out.

G.P. has a way of putting really exciting races together, too many of which are unsolvable puzzles, but interesting as all hell. I spent more time on this one than I'd like to admit and this is all I got...

Race 10
no. 1: Rail helps and the way (complicated as hell) I figure class (how good the hoss is for putting bucks in the owners pocket) - this one comes out on top in that category.

no. 2: Excellent grass connections and CLEARLY show a fondness for the green stuff at any class range over dirt. Castellano can do.

no. 3: consistant and, at least, did try a grade 2 event and did OK. Leparoux is quite formidable in these kinda races.

no. 4: too much to write about this one and it's all good. ALWAYS give Wolfson a good look in turf races.

no. 5: just look at the pps for this one. A REAL racehorse, competitive as all hell. This one will run his ass off today forya today. Prob. is - he sure is picking stiff competition as his first MAJOR test. Very hard to ignore this runner though.

No. 6: The one we gotta beat and I think we can. Prob. is whose gonna do the beating. AND, worser.. whose gonna beat McLaughlin.. the absolute BEST (IMO) trainer to have on yer hoss in these kinda race.

no. 8: only other one to write about. Basically, my capping sez to look out for this one.

Hopefully, it's helpful IF I got (tried to) the contenders for this one listed. Gotta see them and the odds too before doing anything. IF I hadda do something now... well, I see my "Magic Nos." listed ... you know "1-3-6 and 1-2-4" boxed trifectas. :)

We'll see. Good luck recruiting MJers, Mully. And at the track today too.

Gonna check some mo

Gonna check some mo

Thanks for chimming in, Guys.

I see what you're thinking Mully... PLENTY of speed, Bravo and Dale (very nice duo) and shortening up. I do my figures that just goes by nos. and stats/pace figures. He came up in the lower half of these. Then I go by ME... you know, the stuff the nos. don't SEE. I got two things against the no. 7 - always made a LOT of sense to me about a speedball shortening up distance and looking a lot like a wire to wire jobbie. Just hardly ever works in my experience. Sorta like a "trap". Also, yes his last was vs. Grade ones .. but IMO he got beat by hoses in that race that look "worser" than the ones he's facing today. Basically, he looks like a horse that may be tailing off a bit and at a track that plays closers. Just my opinion. DON'T LET ME TAKE YA OFF HIM THOUGH... this race is a puzzle.

IE, wish I knew more about the no. 1, like seeing him (I go more by sight than anything else) run before. My class figs. are pretty dependable, but NOT everything. He got a $134K rating, next was the no. 4 ($100K).. after that ... way back to $78K (no. 6). That's a hefty margin.

I like to checkem out real close like in the paddock and post parade and Society's Chairman just looks ALIVE (NOT a deadhead) .. should be a good play methinks.

It's a tough race though. Save some moola for the 6th.

Good luck.

Well no. 6 in the 6th was my Bestest of the Day. Looks terrible in the prerace, but the nos are too good for me to pass up. Just not gonna lay down the HEAVY wood like I planned.

Plays are also...

Well, that 6 ran a fine 2 furlongs :(

Funny thing, he got passed pretty quickly and came back a bit down the stretch to get 4th. That same return ya get for finishing last. Ugh!

Gotta take prices like that with small plays IF ya see something worthwhile in the horses and I did.

Ok,.. next race??

In the 8th....

prerace looks like 2 and 7 and both look pretty good capping wise also. I'll wheel one top/bot in zactas and play the other accross the board (3x to Show).

Btw.. if ya gotta just pick one.. the longer odds (7) would be the one.

well, I AM going with the "Magic".. just 1$ tri boxes... 1-2-4 and 1-3-6. So far.
(I'll just edit this one instead of starting a new reply for this race.)

Doesn't look like it's gonna be my day at Gulf. Did hit a nice zacta at Philly, but G.P. ate that up already. Still one more.. TERRIBLE (tough) race to go at the Gulf.

Now I KNOW it was a bad day. How the hell did that 4 come back to pass the 7 in deep stretch??

Sheesh. collected the place and show on the 7 (off at 8-1) but that ain't gonna save today.

Keep the faith.
