Agree on the comparison, although I think Maroney has more talent. But, that sometimes does not mean you're a better player. FWP works his ass off and has made himself into a quality NFL back.

He does have a super bowl record to his name. :00hour

But, I dont think they had signed Parker yet to that four year deal when the 2006 draft rolled around. Think they inked that deal closer to the start of the 2006 season.

He has only has two years left on that deal. And, has a broken ankle.

They are on the clock right now.

They have to be thinking strongly about Mendenhall right here.

We'll see what happens. :0corn

mendenhall is the choice...think this is the steal of the draft....but

why ?

i am not a jerry jones fan but i think felix is a nice compliment to barber...

He will be. I am just upset they passed on Mendenhall.

I realize FJ style is probably a better compliment to MBIII than Mendy would be, but I just liked him better.

It does give Dallas a lethal special teams return game if Pac plays this year.

Could play a huge roll w/ field position all season long.

the guy on the nfl network said the only knock on mendenhall is that he may be a 1 year wonder...which may explain why some teams passed him up...

I like the pick too!

AR: It could be the steal based on Kiper having him #10 on the board and they got him at 23. From a value standpoint, thats pretty dang good.

Parker is a question mark next year as I see it because of the severity of the injury and the timing of it right at the end of last season. Speed is so much a part of his game, does he lose a step on that rehabbed broken ankle. And, they cant go featuring Davenport or Mwelde Moore.

Yes, they need to work on that OL, but Mendenhall can get yards and have a big impact on this offense next year. He could lead the team in rushing.

Hmmmm pit drafting Thomas from msu?
if that happens I will ask him for tix right away for a steelers game, he is on my facebook and a cool guy, not tight friends but we have talked on several occasions (lived in my apartment complex) at msu

espn is mentioning thomas going to the titans...which would be a good fit for them...

the draft expert on the nfl network has mendenhall rated higher than mcfadden...

As a Dead fan, I would be remiss in pointing out that when the Tenn Titans were on the clock, they were playing Tennessee Jed over the PA.

Love that!

Ok, now back to football talk!

That was not a good pick by the Tits. They have enough RBs in the stable.

Isnt this guy (Chris Johnson) just like the RB they took from Zona(Chris Henry) last year?

Why not add Devin Thomas for VY to throw the ball.

But hey thats good for Dallas. Keep dropping those WRs till the 2nd round. Give me my boy Sweed!

Dimitroff: Tough choice between Ryan and Dorsey
By D. Orlando Ledbetter | Saturday, April 26, 2008, 04:42 PM

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff came out to address the selection of quarterback Matt Ryan with the No. 3 pick.

?We are definitely excited about Matt Ryan,? Dimitroff said. ?Going forward, we?re excited about him being the quarterback of the future for the Atlanta Falcons.?

Dimitroff said the decision came down to Ryan or LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey.

?We had options for sure and obviously as it has been written, Glenn Dorsey was a legitimate consideration,? Dimitroff said. ?We respect the ability of both players. It came down to us, as far as a tipping point, us considering the value of that position and the need that we had. But most importantly we decided that the skill set that Matt Ryan possessed along with his intelligence and leadership ability, we were excited about going in that direction.?

Yep, and some of those tie-dyes still fit!

As DeadHeads go, I am a youngling as they only had about 7-8 years of touring left in their run byt the time I was old enough to go to concerts (i am in my late 30s). But, for some reason I was always intrigued by their music and still am quick to get my hands on whatever materials of theirs gets released.

My ears picked up that song on the PA instantly, but it took me a little longer to figure out why they were playing with Tenn being on the clock. :mj07:

Where it is real F ing COLD
We shall see blue. I like accurate quarterbacks and i haven't seen any as accurate as him.

I just don't like many PAC 10 QBs. Most defenses are terrible. I think Ryan has had to go up against tougher defenses. Doesn't have as much to work with like Booty. Booty gets the best talent in the country. I mean many times Ryan was under tons of pressure.
