Scott I don't think Vick was ever going to play for the Falcons again. I think we just lost out on a guy who would've anchored our D line for years.
..............................................................

yeh but I was tired of hearing people in blogs hoping hoping hoping Vick would be back. It made me sick.

Lets see who they take at top of second round. That will tell us alot.

I honestly do not think Blank had anything to do with the picking of Ryan. Dimitroff is making the calls. The guy is no push over.

I did read where Blank sat in on the meeting with Ryan and the other players they interviewed.

I am hoping Smith will be able to keep Blanks ass off the field and keep him from high fiving and hugging any players on the sidelines.

Could not agree any more. I am not convinced that Ryan is any better that Brohm, Flacco or even Henne. Like a lot here, I watch a ton of football. Ryan was good and nearly helped BC step up another level, but at no point did I watch him and say 'oh yeah, there's the next great NFL great.'

I could not disagree more with Steve Young who has said multple times today that Ryan was the only franchise QB in this or next years draft.

Dorsey is a stud. I would have picked him at 3 and if a QB is also a need take one of those other three in the next round.

tp..

just to play devils advocate...

ryan did not have much help around him this year at bc...& although flacco has a good arm, & besides the weak competition that he faced this year, a few experts have said that his leg work is kind of slow....brohm imo is a very good qb, liked him everytime that i saw him, but he doesn't have a big arm (they said the samething about montana)....i think you may see teams trade up for henne later on in the draft...

one thing I notice is missing from this coverage is shots of the war rooms.

Owner Jones in Dallas will not like it if he is not shown scurrying around making all the decisions.

Gotta be unnerving to have a TV camera at your house showing you sweating.

There is no way I allow that if I am waiting to be picked. Its embarressing no matter where you get selected for them to keep showing you and your family.

AR,

You play an excellent devil's advocate.

My favorite quality about Ryan is that he has an amazing ability to not do anything for several possessions in a row, but then turn it on and march his team down the field for back to back scores and thus turn the whole game around.

Henne has shown this trait as well.

I just dont feel any of these QBs in this discussion are sure things. My interests would be to pass up these guys in favor of filling other needs with players more likely to have an actual impact on the field next year. At least in the first round.

since there are only 2 rounds today i'll only make the 2 picks:

1-otah ot-pitt(even though i would prefer williams)

bears just took williams..good choice but curious as to why they didn't take mendenhall...maybe detroit will take him...

This draft is setting up very nice for Dallas....

Cb's dropping...

WR's a plenty...

RB's will be there in the 2nd round.

Would love to see Dallas get Roy Will or Boldin today.

don't get me wrong if i was atl. i would have taken dorsey also because i think the lines should be taken before the playmakers & then i would have gone for henne asap..

Detroit is on the clock.

This should be interesting.

Local papers had them touting Stewart who is already off the board. I feel like they will take Mendenhall, but man they need a ton of help on the defensive side of the ball.

Young just said Detroit has the QB in the NFC North--Kitna. Sadly, he might be right.

The guy I have on my board who is dropping like a rock is Dominique Rogers Cromardie CB

He was slated at #8 but is still there.

The QB that I really like is Henne . He showed me alot beating Florida in the bowl game. Damn he was on target throw after throw.

Ryan was the top QB . Everyone knew that. He has all the tools and if he dont rush them he will lead Atlanta for a long time. Very intelligent and
does not spend his days in the hood smoking crack.

with dallas getting jones, i think dallas will go offense with their first pick & try to trade down for their 2nd pick....

If Jenkins is there I cant see how Dallas would pass him up.

I dont think Dallas is going to be all the eggs in the Pac-Man basket @ CB.

I am hoping Philly takes Otah, cause he would be tempting for the Boys to take.

Houston the team I worry about taking Jenkins!

Zona takes DRC....grrr.

That's ok...just let Mike Jenkins be there @ 22.

I like Jenkins a lot. I thought the primary reason USF became a player in the national discussion was because they could lock down with Jenkins. I think he was the best CB on the board.

Moffett, Groete and that pass rusher Selvie got more pub, but Jenkins was their best player.
