OAKLAND +6 vs. DENVER
I was hoping this line would move up, but had no idea it would finally reach +6. When it did, that calls for a wager. One factor I look at when taking a dog, is asking myself "is this team capable of winning outright?" In this case with Oakland, the answer to this question is clearly YES. Would anyone be surprised to see the Raiders pull of an outright upset? I'm not saying that it wil happen, only that it plays into an assessment of the game matchup. We also get lots of extra value with the Raiders in this game, based on public perceptions that Denver in one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now, while Oakland has completely reversed itself from a 4-0 start. If anything, Oakland has the GREATER MOTIVATION in this game, with their backs against the wall against a division rival. Add the factor of this being an intense inter-division game between two bitter rivals who normally play close games -- and that's another reason to take the +6. In terms of matchups, Oakland can match the Broncos point for point offensively, but does have some problems on defense. Still, as long as Oakland is capable of scoring, I think that plays into a bet for the dog here. In it's last big primetime game at Mile High, Denver lost outright to Miami -- and face a very similar spot here. Both teams have enjoyed two weeks to prepare for this game, which plays into an intense game that should be close. We get two angles that favor a bet on the Raiders -- first, HOME FAVS OFF A BYE are only hitting about 40 percent historically over the past five seasons (they are a terrible bet). Second, something about Monday Night Football always brings out the best in the Raiders. You can count on a solid performance by this team tonight. Finally, I'll take Gannon as the more consistent QB over Greise anyday. Loks like a 3 points game either way. Playing Oakland. I'm also adding bets for smaller amounts on:

RAIDERS TO WIN:
1Q: +.5 (-120)
1H: +3.5 (-115) FULL UNIT BET
2Q: +.5 (+115)
3Q: +.5 (EVEN)
4Q: +.5 (-105)

SIX PLAYS ON THE RAIDERS TONIGHT. BIG GAME.

Sorry Nolan, but I do think it would be a shock if the Raider's won tonight.

just my 2 cents, and being a HUGE broncos fan it may be biased, but the Raiders do not match up well against Denver, and Denver's offense with the addition of Sharpe and Lelie (not forgetting Steady Eddie and Rod Smith), going against the injured
Woodson boys are much better than the grandpappy's of the AFC West.

I think I remember you or someone saying...Sometimes the best wager is not making one and tonight falls into that category imho..

Good Luck

Good luck on your plays. Your info is appreciated. I do dissagree. This is as big of a coaching mismatch as you're going to see. Shannahan with two weeks to prepare will undress the Raiders at the new mile high. IMO

would also like to comment that Denver has outscored their opponents 40-7 in the First Quarter this year and coming off a bye with their first 15 play scripted (per usual), I would be careful with the FQ play...

but you never know...

gannon is having a critical physical day.which normally means he won't be at his best. An example was priest holmes yesterday. H ehad a triple critical day and was held to 56 total yards ! on the other hand griese is having a high on the physical..I will lean towaeds denver due to past results with this system.
