loop where the fock ya been?
I agree with all the points made thus far on ECU & UNC sides and so forth.
Here is my thing, I circled this game before last week, NC had a bye week, they looked out of synch and could not stop San Diego St, Rocky is a pretty crafty coach, but a lot of times west coast teams lay eggs traveling out east, especially to the humiture and heat in the Triangle area. UNC last year lost their QB, Renner, they had some holes to fill and this year, they've put a lot of younger players into starting roles and they have an athletic QB in Marquise Williams. Vs Liberty, they trailed 22-21 at home in week 1 before finally getting into a groove and winning 56-29. Vs SDSU, they allowed QB Kaehler to throw for 340 yds, NC had to win it in the final minute as SDSU cold not punch it in thus NC wins 31-27. No way this team should be ranked!
ECU with HC with huge chip on his shoulder in Ruffin, who's like a big father figure to these kids in Greenville have a finess and smart QB in Carden, who dumps and executes the short passes. UNC's strength is speed, ECU is finess and making good decisions. This team could be 3-0 and had S Carolina beat, but they shot themselves in the foot a couple of times and learned from that loss. Va Tech's "D" is immensely better than UNC's "D" and ECU picked it apart for most of the game, before Va Tech tied it up and ECU went back ahead to win it.
I'm a big believer in veteran leadership over youth when it comes to college football and this game is an instate bragging rights game, ECU whitewashed UNC last year. UNC's excuse? "We took them lightly" is total BS!! Fedora is a bag of hot air. He rested on the coattails of what Jeff Brower brought to the USM program, then Larry left in a heartbeat, then when Larry leaves, the team at USM wins just 1 game the last 2 years? Who recruited those kids at USM after Brower left? Brower? Or Fedora?
Ruffin has built ECU to where it is today and his team barring any unforeseen suspensions or injuries before Saturday at 3:30 pm, will give UNC all they have and they won't relent. I have ECU winning by 10 or more points and I have yet to wager on it. The line is -2 to -3, my local has it as 1/1 or a pick, I'm going to wait until noon to play this one just before I leave to go tailgating in Greenville and see if I can get a better money line play on ECU. If anything, this might be a way "OVER" type game like it was last year. Nice, warm and dry weather instore for this region and the Pirate Nation will once again out number the Tarheel faithful in attendance for this 3:30 pm tilt!!
ECU 37 UNC 27!!
GL fellas whomever you play!!
