is this line trolling for pirate money? ecu off of two serious roads games, last one huge upset in blacksburg, carolina coming to greenville after being humiliated last year in chapel hill in front of all the faithful. im gonna guess that the lackluster effort from the heels early may have been either lookahead or not wanting to make any film of value, or both?

tough game to handicap,

UNC publicly stated they didn't take the Pirates serious enough last season.

The Pirates in their last game had 6 drives in the 2nd half, only 2 traveled more than 18 yards.

That sorta bothers me...

I took UNC and three last Sunday when line came out. Also have them in teaser at ten.
That being said if UNC cannot block the giant nose tackle Terry Williams I am not sure Tarheels can score enough points to win the game.
Weather looks to be sunny and in mid 80's . I would think UNC will run draws and screens trying wear out Williams .Bye week should help with UNC's preparation. I did not like the way ECU got conservative last week after they got a big lead.
If the Pirates get a win the schedule really looks good for them until they go to Cincy.
I am predicting a 35-32 type game.

Yeah and it's a public play, now everyone knows who east carolina is :0002.
The only problem I have is that NC sucks, they somehow beat san diego st. thanks to some picks and penalties. SD had over 500 yds against these baby blue's.
This is a game i should lay off of but can't help it.

I like the Pirates. Played them at -2.5.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do with this game

loop where the fock ya been?

I agree with all the points made thus far on ECU & UNC sides and so forth.

Here is my thing, I circled this game before last week, NC had a bye week, they looked out of synch and could not stop San Diego St, Rocky is a pretty crafty coach, but a lot of times west coast teams lay eggs traveling out east, especially to the humiture and heat in the Triangle area. UNC last year lost their QB, Renner, they had some holes to fill and this year, they've put a lot of younger players into starting roles and they have an athletic QB in Marquise Williams. Vs Liberty, they trailed 22-21 at home in week 1 before finally getting into a groove and winning 56-29. Vs SDSU, they allowed QB Kaehler to throw for 340 yds, NC had to win it in the final minute as SDSU cold not punch it in thus NC wins 31-27. No way this team should be ranked!

ECU with HC with huge chip on his shoulder in Ruffin, who's like a big father figure to these kids in Greenville have a finess and smart QB in Carden, who dumps and executes the short passes. UNC's strength is speed, ECU is finess and making good decisions. This team could be 3-0 and had S Carolina beat, but they shot themselves in the foot a couple of times and learned from that loss. Va Tech's "D" is immensely better than UNC's "D" and ECU picked it apart for most of the game, before Va Tech tied it up and ECU went back ahead to win it.

I'm a big believer in veteran leadership over youth when it comes to college football and this game is an instate bragging rights game, ECU whitewashed UNC last year. UNC's excuse? "We took them lightly" is total BS!! Fedora is a bag of hot air. He rested on the coattails of what Jeff Brower brought to the USM program, then Larry left in a heartbeat, then when Larry leaves, the team at USM wins just 1 game the last 2 years? Who recruited those kids at USM after Brower left? Brower? Or Fedora?

Ruffin has built ECU to where it is today and his team barring any unforeseen suspensions or injuries before Saturday at 3:30 pm, will give UNC all they have and they won't relent. I have ECU winning by 10 or more points and I have yet to wager on it. The line is -2 to -3, my local has it as 1/1 or a pick, I'm going to wait until noon to play this one just before I leave to go tailgating in Greenville and see if I can get a better money line play on ECU. If anything, this might be a way "OVER" type game like it was last year. Nice, warm and dry weather instore for this region and the Pirate Nation will once again out number the Tarheel faithful in attendance for this 3:30 pm tilt!!

ECU 37 UNC 27!!

GL fellas whomever you play!!

ECU rolled UNC last year in Chapel Hill. UNC struggled with San Diego St.

ECU will cover the game.

I'm glad to see teams come to Dowdy Ficklin. Too bad South Carolina won't man up and travel to Greenville.

Purple Haze all the way. GL guys

These are the games that always kill me. Heels give up 500+yards to SDSU and now go to ECU and face Carden who's super confident!? I thought ECU would be a 7 or more. Was salivating at -3 which means somehow UNC wins or loses by 1-2. Fedora said that this is the best ECU team he's seen going back to his days at So. Miss. Is this all BS??? :popcorn2

I thought line would be closer to 6/7. S Diego St. beat UNC in the trenches. I was so tired of it I left after 3Q...right before all the fireworks!!..lol. It is a great situation/spot for UNC but I will not be shocked if we get rocked!! Go Powder Blue:00hour

Think ECU wins by double digits. Carolina has been miserable this year. Terrible. We actually could have lost both games pretty easily. Definitely should have lost the SDSU game. Can't stop the run, can't stop the pass- young team. The only things in the Heels' corner is the fact that ECU beat VT last week and also the fact that Fedora gets up for these in-state rivalries. Butch Davis looked at each game equally and his lack of emphasis on our in-state rivalries ended up in a poor record during his tenure. Fedora has not minced words he really gets pumped and it's been reflected in how our team has played during his time here.
This game can go either way but I think it's a much higher likelihood ECU rolls than us coming out with the W.

15 years ago, I started surfing the net for the first time as a tool to improve my sports handicapping. What a great serendipity to find that you can forge lasting friendships thusly. Thanks to my friends jack and ie for making that possible.

On to business.

Unc +2- for two units - Game day and every football fan I know in eastern nc is headed to greenville to watch ecu take it to the heels. But for all the reasons laid out above this game is huge for the heels and larry fedora. Trust me the rams club faithful will not be content to get dusted by the pirates and play in the belk bowl every year. Still believe that part of the reason for unc's lackluster early play was the lookahead to this game - an historic first in chapel hill. Plus, all those madjack oldtimers know ol' loophole loves him some rlm, especially when the number settles on 2-or 6-, those most seductive of all numbers.

Other games:

Tulane +17: think the blue devils take a saturday off and let the green wave hang around.

Fau +3-: started following this team lasting season after their ugly midseason coaching change and like what they the new regime has going on.

Rice/odu over 63: this may be my overreaction to watching the monarchs play in raleigh but heinicke is the real deal. Throw in a decent rushing game and odu can put points up against anybody except maybe the elite ds. Their problem is they cant stop anyone, and the owls will light them up at home.
