Is there nothing Obama can do that the Right won't find fault with?

Here President Obama wants to give a speech September 8 about the importance of staying in school and working hard, and these idiots are screaming that he is brainwashing their children to be slaves of the government. WTF???

There is also talk of this speech being communism, and brainwashing that creates Hitler Youth.

Do those on the Right have ANY working brain cells? Criticize a speech to be given 6 days from now, geez!

"Gang, you have a system that is wildly, wildly out of control, and they are capturing your kids." Glenn Beck.

Im betting they will try to say there the same:142smilie .By the way, this country has a long way to go before its considered a socialist state.

what comes to mind is the tons of kids who had "1984" on their summer reading list....they're gonna walk into school next week and see obama's face beaming down at them from a monitor telling them how to be better citizens and how they can help president obama(not the country).... ...

should provoke an interesting essay or two....

Now that you mention it, Wease, for a huge number of kids in this country, looking up to a figure like Obama is exactly what they need. What a terrible thing, right? Telling them to become better citizens. Talking about black people being responsible and taking responsibility. Stepping up and assuming your role in life after you make decisions, etc.

Now I'm not saying all his policy ideas and practices in reality accomplish those things, some surely don't accentuate them from one point of view. But he certainly speaks well about these issues, and coming from where he came from, and ending up where he is, that's a strong message to those that care enough to give a crap. Many don't for sure, but some it might change their thinking a little as far as schoolin' and a chance at being something someday. He sadly pales in comparison to Fitty Cent and 'Lil Wayne for many, but that's even a little understandable, for those that don't subscribe to Obama's speeches.

What a terrible thing. Many of them wouldn't know what he was saying, using that proper language and all. The last President they watched spoke a different language altogether.

yes....verbatim from the dept of education website:.....

""But in advance of the address, the Department of Education has offered educators "classroom activities" to coincide with Obama's message.

Students in grades pre-K-6, for example, are encouraged to "write letters to themselves about what they can do to help "the president". These would be collected and redistributed at an appropriate later date by the teacher to ""make students accountable to their goals.""

say what?.....not the nation...they`re supposed to help "the president"?.....

""Why is it important that we listen to the President and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of Congress, or the governor. Why is what they say important?""

what?....NOT listening to bush was the highest form of patriotism not too long ago....lol

they grade them on why they`re supposed to blindly follow some politician`s agenda?....""what can I do to help the president" (with an implicit suggestion that the child will be graded on that activity) is NOT directly related to a simple "hearing comprehension" exercise....

lord, the huge majority of the academic system already leans way left and basically has the nea to ensure leftist indoctrination(just look at all the college sheep that this forum has attracted)...

thuis shit with the kids is creepy,imo...

o.k...maybe i`m being a tad harsh and cynical...but after 8 years of moonbat bds,it`s a chore to give obama the respect the office deserves....for that i apologize....:sadwave:

maybe he`ll be thouroughly forthright with the kids, and says something along the lines of,"look, you can spend your high school years drunk & stoned with really bad grades and become the president, i did.".....

TIA.

No,

Just took a time out. You all have got yourselves wound up in a dither about this speech and it hasn't happened. It could be like expecting a great movie from Pauly Shore or something funny and original from Dane Cook, :nono: NOT GONNA HAPPEN ! Just let the POTUS speak, you do you job as a parent if there is something in the sppech you don't like. You have the RIGHT to attend your childs class that day, or any day. Just keep your comments to yourself while you are there. :142smilie

The education system needs this kind of support.

We have to start early with kids to get them on the right track.

Parents who are objecting to this are just stupid.

These kids need inspiration . They need someone to look up to. They need hope.

When was the last President that even thought about talking to the kids.

GO AMERICA !
