If you didn't save for your retirement or won't get a defined pension from your employer you get what you deserve.

Same thing for you slugs receiving Social Security Disability payments. Eliminate them too! You're gaming the system anyway. Go get a job at McDonalds. If you can sit here and type all day you have the stamina to flip burgers!

I'm sick and tired of supporting a bunch of morons who constantly cry, cry, cry about this country and what's going on!

Medicare? Medicaid? Get rid of that too. You should have had the common sense to fend for yourself with your medical bills instead of making me pay for your low life in front of a computer!

LET'S GO, PAUL RYAN! GET THESE BILLS MOVING! ELIMINATE THESE SOCIALIST PROGRAMS!

You want a 100% Capitalist government? You hate Socialists? You hate Progressives? You hate Democrats? Then you don't need these programs clogging up the US economy either! Eliminate them. It will get you nuts off my dime and you will have to FINALLY work for a living!

Exactly.

So I paid in the max times 2 my whole working life and don't get shit from it? WTF is THAT?

Just take it away like that?

My health insurance already costs me over $1000 a month at 56 years old. What will it be when I'm 70 and will I even be able to get health insurance when I'm 70+?

I guess I'll have to rent and hide my money so they can't take my home and life savings from me if I have a heart attack. Christ!

I think DTB is up for collecting Social Security in a year or two. Are you willing to give that up, Wayne, after all the money you paid in over the years, times 2, too?

$1000/month? That's peanuts. Wait until you're 67 with heart problems and diabetes. It'll be $10,000/month. That's IF you can find an ins company which will accept you.

However the Pail Ryan plan will give you an $8,000/year voucher. Which you can wipe your ass with.

But don't worry, doggie will fix you up with a policy just fine. Just ask him for a quote.

Most people "that worked" get reports every november on how much their social security and disabilty payments will be --based on WHAT THEY PAID IN--so see don't see these these as entitlements like Medicaid/Welfare where amount of check is determined not by what you paid in but how many time you threw those heels up in the air and yelled "whos your daddy"

Jack:

I'm guessing you didn't read Ryan's proposal and just listened to Democratic rhetoric. If you are 56, NOTHING changes for you in terms of Medicare. Nothing.

Instead of listening to the sounds bites of the Dems, you need to find the truth. It has been reported many times that Ryan's proposal will not affect anyone that is 55 or over.

Actually, I was listening to Fox News Talk on XM Radio during my 816 mile drive on Sunday.

Okay, so what about the folks under 55? Fucked? That affects my wife. :0008

It doesn't matter anyway because it's not getting passed through the Senate.

And all they have to do is lift the ceiling max on SS tax. So what's the big harm in that?

And for someone who is now 56, will retire in 9 years and live to age 85, how will that be paid for?

DUH? is not an answer.

Well, there is big harm in that for folks like you and I that pay double FICA and Medicare costs (which is like 16% of income).

If they lift the max on SS, fine, but then they have to change the formula to give higher benefits to those who pay in more.

Social security is an insurance program technically (and its official name says so), and while it does have some income redistribution schemes in it, the last thing we need to do is take even more money from hard working Americans.

AND social security is kept in its own fund, and I don't think you can take the money from it to pay for other purposes (although I know the Gov has found away around that in the past).

Small business (LLC's for example) in our country right now routinely pay almost 50% of their income in taxes right now - between Federal Tax, State Tax, and double FICA/Medicare. That ain't right. Not when 50% of the population pays NOTHING in Federal income tax.

It's time we move to a flat tax, no exemptions. No earned income credit, no mortage credit, no credit for pumping out kids, no credit for 401K contributions, no tax deductibly of health insurance premiums. Take total income for everybody and multiply by 15%. More than enough money to go around then.

And then finally everyone will share in the pain, instead of exempting half of the population from the pain in paying Federal tax.

Same way it has always been. It's in the proposal. That is not where the savings would be coming from.

There is nothing wrong for all insureds to have more skin in the game. One of the principal reasons that health care costs are so high is due to the fact that many folks don't pay anything out of pocket to go to the doctor (most union plans are like this in WI). There is no incentive not to use as much health care as you want, needed or not.

Oh yea, and Obama's HCR isn't helping in this regard. Since he made HSA's not be allowed to reimburse OTC drugs, more and more people are going to the doctor to get Prilosec and other OTC's precribed (as those are eligible for FSA's).

Of course, the prescription version is more expensive than OTC drugs. So, instead of buying Prilosec, for example, over the counter for $20, now people are incurring a doctor visit for $75, and the drug itself costs $50 (although the patient pays a copay so they may only see $5 or so). So, the costs of health care increases in this example from $20 to $125.

That's a great way to reduce health care costs overall! Great idea Obama!

He isn't a very intelligent fellow, that is for sure.

Haven't watched Bill Maher in about a year since i unloaded HBO but they have a free sample this week or month on DTV. So i watched it and there was a good give and take with Ed Shultz and Republican Michael Steele. If someone wants to bring it up have at it. It shows u what happens when one of these neocon ball lickers has to actually debate one of their American back breaking platforms against a guy with some balls who will go at them. It is a lot different then them spewing their bullshit on Fox News without anyone challenging their lies. The best line was when Steele was trying to explain this back breaking platform saying "lets have an intelligent discussion" :mj07:
