they`re saying that two died(one a child)...others horribly maimed.......the atlantic has a picture collage that really brings it home...we`re all adults and i suggest that you not look at the picture that has the disclaimer(you can`t un-see something like that)........

I saw that too, and that's how we have to feel about these type of things.
You can't stop living, and having a little bit of faith in humanity.
And as scary as this type of stuff is, there are far worse things happening, even in our own country.
Not suggesting we are spending a disproportionate amount of time/attention/emotion on the Boston bombing, because obviously it is a big deal. But, how many other murders, accidents, war deaths etc. were there yesterday?
Especially when I read something like what "the addict" said about not going to movie theaters or sports events. I don't have kids, so I can't fully understand the protective shell you try to put around them, but the odds of being harmed in either of those settings is exponentially less than dying in a car accident on the way to school. Perspective is pretty important I'd say.

I dont have kids but I'd think this would really screw someone up. you cant just shelter your kid and not let them experience the real world because you are scared of it. you are going to deprive your kid of stuff because once every 10 years theres a terrorist attack or something?
there are terrible people in this world that do terrible things. trying to hide that from your daughter and not let her do things because of the bad guys is no way to go about living. you just want to live in fear your whole life?
