No joint pain here Jack--is effecting my concentration level. Took almost twice as long to cap golf this morning. I have generally 4 tables I'll refer to and and by the time I get to the 3rd I have forgot the data from the 1st and have to go back-- that never happen before.:mj16:
I got me an extra week supply from guy who quit and didn't need them anymore--so got 2 weeks worth on ) cigs now.

how's it going, wayne

Believe I'm home free Jack--and never thought I'd say that. Been a month-and still have small urges occasionally but fewer of them. When computer system crashed at worked and I didn't fire one up with anxiety level peaking--I knew I was over the hump.

Believe energy level has increased as played 36 holes Wednesday and wasn't as tired as in the past.

on flip side

Have added bout 10 lbs this month--hope that subsides. Concentration level not up to norm yet-and have yet to find substitute for the instant calming effect smoking.

how's it going, wayne? i'm smoke free for 17 days now and no side effects this time. well, the dreams but i like the vivid dreams. and, i have to take with food or i get nauseous (sp).

did you use chantix for just the one month? i think i'll refill the prescription and get them for another month starting monday.

the only strong urges i get are in the morning with coffee, but i think that's because that pill has worn off from the night before.

my chronic coughing in the morning and night is completely gone. i will be out of my mind if i ever smoke one more cigarette.

i haven't weighed myself because i afraid of the results. i have been eating like there's no tomorrow and can't stop. matter of fact, i'm heading out for groceries in about a half hour :mj07:

i haven't had any beer for 18 days either. i'm afraid if i drink i'll lower my defenses and smoke, so i'll remain alcohol free for awhile too.

hopefully you haven't been smoking yet.

--17 days--good job:00hour

You've got the hardest part whipped.

Still smoke free here--will be 2 months Sept 4th--and no shot of returning to smoking.

Have very few minor urges every now on then but don't think about it much anymore. I knew after making it through casino @ Belterra with no major urge I was over the hump.

I never had cough you speak of and so far most side effects of quiting to me have been negative.

The positives: I don't smoke--and believe enegy level has increased.

The negatives--concentration level not back to norm -but getting there,
Never had colds and have been sick twice since quitting.
Most spoke of joints aching while on Chantrix--mine didn't then but do now especially golf related joints--hands ,fingers etc however not major aches just nagging ones.
Golf game is horrendous since quiting--you can ask partners at Bellterra--I do know why --but just is.

Hoping the negatives get better--if not will just live with them.

Jack
Took 2 month script initially and friend that had quit gave me one week he had left over.

As I said earlier I didn't even cut back any 1st 2 weeks--I though there would be magic bullet that would make me not want one--when I found out not the case for me--I started to wean myself off as described above. Actually believe had only quit completely last 10 days on drug.

Wasn't sure I could ever quit but as I told you if I can you can. Your job might be a little tougher as you are at more social activities where temptation is greatest. I think it might help to avoid as many social events as possible for next couple of weeks--or take some one with you that will give you additional support during event.

Yep Bear was certainly an inspiration to me also.

completely smoke free for one whole month.

still taking the chantix with no side effects except for the dreams and trouble sleeping through the whole night. it's easy to get to sleep but i wake up a lot during the night and have trouble getting back to sleep.

still staying away from all alcohol because the other times i quit, it was drinking nights that got me started again. i am determined not to have ONE cigarette again, ever. time will tell.

christ! i gained 12 pounds prior to quitting and now have added another 8 :sadwave: i'll worry about losing the weight at a later date. staying away from smoking is the priority right now.

hopefully you are still smoke free, wayne.

What? Wow! Way to go MJ!!!:00hour :00hour

After 6 weeks I believe you are home free. Been 5 years now for me.....still want the occasional cig.

A little mild exercise would be a great thing for you, just light treadmill or walk 9.

Yep Still there Jack--in fact I am amazed at not having hardly any times I even think about it any more.
Strangest thing though--while I remeber you saying that chantrix made your joints ache--I had no prob while taking it it but since I guit the chantrix and cigs over 2 months now I experience aches all over--especially when I 1st wake up. However not really painful just annoying--however after I move around for hour or so they subside. fingers in right hand especially bad --from hitting golf balls daily--but oddly they do not hurt when Ihit balls only afterwards and before--strange shit.
Just got done playing and never thought about them--but stiff and ache now as I type.
Hopefully things reverse in the future.

Also never had colds before and have had 2 since smoking--then there was the episode that feaked me out just prior to Mad Jacks golf outing--but no sign of it since.

you have any probs muscle or joint aches this time?

48 days smoke free :00hour

quit the chantix sunday. don't need it anymore. the plan was to take it for 6 months but i was waking up every morning with severe lower back pain and thought maybe the chantix was messing with my kidneys. i saw that on TV as a possible side effect.

drank beer 2 times in those 48 days and still stayed away. well, i'm testing that tonight too so make that 3 days of beer :mj06:

i think i'll pull it off this time. i sure hope so.

nasty, nasty, fuking habit.

how you doing, wayne?

i have no aches and pain at all like i did the last time. the only side effect i think i was getting was the back pain but that's gone. unfortunately the good dreams are gone too.

i'm gaining weight too because i'm eating like a hog but i'll deal with that later.
