Just so you know every business in America is in business to make profit for their shareholders or owners

Why do you have such a dislike of profit and Republicans? I think you are just jealous

I didn't ask you I asked FDC why he hates profit and republicans, it's a simple question

Because they ask stupid fucking questions hedge. That's why. I don't hate profits or republicans. I hate ridiculous profits. I hate when oil companies spill oil I'm the oceans and then bitch about having to clean it up and do a half ass jobof it and kill millions of sea creatures . I hate when insurance companies spend millions on lobbyists to get favorable legislation passed so they can make more money off the sick and afflicted. I hate when baseball owners pay their family members millions to hide profits and then lock out the players complaining about salaries. I hate that people sleep at night knowing that some kids in a foreign country won't because they have to work to help feed the family. I hate when they take huge salary and bonuses while cutting pay and benefits of employees. I hate when they say they have to raise their pizza prices fourteen cents and blame it on a lie while they live in a fourteen million dollar mansion. Mostly though I hate that I've never seen or heard of a single one say I'm off to go volunteer at the hospital or the animal shelter or anywhere. I hate that I have to listen to Donald Trump pollute the airwaves. I hate that in six years I never saw or heard of one fucking millionaire strap on a helmet and follow me into combat. I hate that they feel like it's okay to fuck over other people to make a dollar. If you want to build a golden calf made out of the blood sweat and tears of others go ahead, just don't have a dumb look on your face when those people finally have had enough and come callingfor their pound of flesh .

If me posting the other side of that coin is gonna piss you off then please don't read further....

For everyone of the above you mention I can point out hundreds of workers who fake injuries, file frivolous lawsuits, half ass it at work constantly, get found sleeping in their car when they should be working, call off when they aren't sick and steal from their employer.

While I am sure that the things you dislike about corporate America happens, you really paint the work force as the victim when they are as much to blame as anyone for the current conditions of the country.

It's easy to see only the point if view that you have and not that of the other side. Me too.

Pf,
While I'm sure some of those things happen it is not the norm. If it were then the company in question probably wouldn't make ridiculous profits. The question was about profits. I'm all for people making money. I like to make money but I pay a good wage to my employees.

Everyone comes from different walks of life, its funny how our views are so polar opposite. I do agree with you on several things FDC, the salaries for executives making way more than average workers who do all the work for them, the oil spills and killing wildlife really bothers me also.

Countless actualities are more interconnected than you may believe.

Peace! :)

I like to make money but I pay a good wage to my employees.

So say a good wage for your employees is 25$/hr and you are currently paying them that. You then have some incredibly good business and your profits triple.

Should those employees then get paid 75$/hour? Or should that profit go to the person who owns the business. The person who took on the liability in opening it in the first place. The person who will be left holding their business loans should their business fail while their employees head down and take a job with the guy down the street.

I'm all for paying a good wage to my employees. I'm all for providing good benefits, higher pay than average, vacation, and really just taking the time to sit them down and tell them I appreciate their hard work.

When my business has increased profits I don't feel the need to split that even-steven with them. I spent 10 years in school that cost me 200k. I took out a half million dollar loan to open the doors. If I go bankrupt they go down the street.

I know you are more so referring to execs making millions but for every one of the success stories there are lines of would-be executives who risked it all and failed.

Is he black or white?

If the insanely good business was proving to last and I had continued good fortune then I suppose I would try to retain my best employees and if that meant a raise or a bonus then that is what I would do. Keep in mind though, I did not have the start up costs you did. How you are as an employer is up to you and you can run your business how you see fit. If you are a good employer then you will have good employees.

FDC you completely dodged the question.

In your post you seem pretty adamant about people getting excessive profit. Of course the definition of excessive is variable.

So my question is: what does a business do that has extremely significant profit margins when their staff are all paid extremely well, bonused out, benefits to the 9s, etc.

You can't just pay them more than their position earns. The profit has to go somewhere. So it goes to those in management/chief operating officers.

Take costco for example. Their employees make great livings, are reimbursed well. I assume costco has significant profits. If a cashier is making pretty much the maximum level for a cashier, and gets bonuses etc, the profit can only really be reinvested in the company or it goes to the CFO and management.

Where else would it go?

To answer your question, two days ago I gave two employees a $500 bonus each for one day for a job well done. I share the wealth but the profits should go to the business owner and he can pay what he wants. Yes I have a problem with executive-employee pay ratios and trillion dollar profits when those profits are made on the backs of the afflicted.

This is what I fail to follow. How are they "afflicted"? They have jobs, jobs they are free to leave if not treated fairly. They have options, slavery has been done away with.

If someone is offered a job at a certain pay rate and accepts that job and pay rate then what the ownership or executives make should not matter in any way shape or form. They still have the job they were offered at the pay they were offered.

I liken this to the dealers at the local casino bitching about working on Christmas. Do I personally think anyone should have to work on Christmas? Hell no. However, when offered the job it was made clear that holidays would be required as the casino does not close. If that is the deal you accepted when you took the job then so be it. You have no right to be upset when disciplined for calling off on Christmas.
