I'll mention here that I plan on ONLY really betting the 5th and the 7th races. Much better Sat. card this week, but Sat. usually isn't my day.

Did figure out other races though and might as well share the picks ... .. .

2nd Race
Here's one good reason why I ain't playing anything for this race - I gots THREE different kinda bets written down. Maybe somebody likes one of them also?
1-3-6 tri box (my "magic" nos. and I
kinda like their chances in this race)

Exactas - no. 1 top/bot w. 4.6,7.

Exactas - 2 top/bot w. 3,6
(just hitting any ONE of the above should be profitabe.)

3rd Race
No. 6, Surround Sound (5-1 M.L.). Actually, I have to play this one cause I liked AND PLAYED him in his last race and he showed good early speed, finished third. Yeah, I hadem W/Pl.
I've seen it too many times - ya like and play a hoss one week and lose then ya just watch the same horse in his next race... Yep,you got it --> he wins at great odds. He gets good figures from me today.
Oops, my bad, it's a SHE.

5th race
Parx (YUCK, what a name) hasn't been Philly-like lately. WAY too many favorites. Now, I ain't against favorites and I stuck real close to them when I used to play N.Y. tracks. But IMO the only way to play/beat this track is to figure out which races to play .. and .. try to beat them favorites in the right kinda races. This race looks like it might be one where this method may work.
Nos. 5 and 10, both decent prices, are the picks.

7th race
Actually, the favorites are better in this race; yet, I'm gonna do my zacta wheel (top/bot) on one hoss and the other gets played W/Pl/Show @ 2x.

No. 2, Opera Omnia, 12- M.L. (DOUBT we'll see those odds though) is ridden by Elliott and trained by Dutrow and is "rated" at 12-1. Now, CUM Onnnn! Just forget about her last race and watch her today.

No. 7,Private Valentine, 8-1 M.L. (may see better odds than that for this one) has plenty going against her. Like, the rider, the trainer, and only seems to run in slop. BUT, having the ONLY speed in today's race, the huge wake up in her last race despite the off track, and the expected odds ... all make her a play today. EASILY has the only speed in this race.

That's it. G.L.

It ain't "Finger poppin time" around here today :(

Small bets and not many of them was the way to go today, pretty much what I did. Probably same for tomorrow as well.

Let's get a little more serious on the paydays - Mon and TUE$.

Sunday's

Sunday's

Similar to my Sat. post - not many plays and pretty much small bets, so I'll just add today's picks in this thread and start a new one for the weekdays.

Card looks decent enough to actually bet a few races today, just hoping the "favorite after favorite after favorite" bit doesn't continue.I'm not anti-favorites (biggest, by far, play I made all year was on that "Untennable Jet" horse last week who was the favorite) but I feel pretty certain that this track can be beaten with "Philly style" exotics.

NOT playing all of these, but I did go over them careful-like except for the 7th race...

2nd race:
It's a NO Play. FUN Money play would be trifectas though -> 1,2,5 and 1,2,7 boxed. BTW, think I will get to see these live today and if that no. 2 hoss looks good... I'll be on it. Connections, breeding, works, AND valid excuse in her only race are all good enough to give this one another chance today - especially at the odds I expect her to go off at.

3rd race:
Looks like this one is between the no. 3, Bavaria (a bettor's friend) and the no. 4, Pirmo Coure. I'm thinking if either is 4-1 or better, it's a play.

4th race:
Great when a horse is showing improvement that is not readily noticeable. That's what I'm seeing with the no. 7, Sunshine Nikkie (8-1 M.L.). IMO, he's got the right jockey for him too.

exactas: 7 top/bot w. each - 3,6,10.

Also, the no. 1, Don't Lie to Me, is a very potential LongShot in this race and I ain't gonna let him win (or place, for that matter) without me. IF THE NO. 10 looks good in the paddock, he's a side Win/Place play as well. The 1 and 10 should both be excellent odds (ESP. the no. 1) and that means I won't be keying either with zactas and risk missing the payoff for either one.

5th race:
NO Play. Figures say it's between the 2 and the 7. The no. 7's M.L. is 10-1. This one was really good up to June of LAST YEAR and tailed off big time. Jockey switch and workout sez something may by up with this one and if she's a "looker" in the prerace... the race is a play for me.

6th race:
No. 6 would be a favorite worth playing if it wasn't for the layoff (50 days). Probably a 6-2 or 2-6 exacta is the play. Boxing 2-5-6 may be worth the extra cost if ya like to box exactas. I gotta see the zacta payoffs before doing anything this race.

7th race:
Didn't do the heavy duty figuring for this race yet, but did go over them and it sure looks like a 5-6-7 zacta box is the way to go. These may be the 3 favoirtes though and shooting for zactas that pay under 20 bucks ain't such a good idea.

that's what I'm up to so far.. G.L. Do save some for the next two days ;)

So far

So far

Looking a lot like yesterday... close, but NO SEEGAR :0031

Had things to do earlier and couldn't get to see the races live. MAYBE I'll SEE something in the preraces from this point on. If not, keeping the faith.

LOOKING at the 7th prerace and the no. 9 LOOKS a little better than the others. Prob. another race where my hoss (no. 9) leads 90% of the way only to get eaten up by the favorite, no. 5. We'll see.

The GOOD NEWS... ... looks like there's more than 10 peoples acutally at the track today. :)

You see the race? Did I call that or what? Something else, the same thing is happening almost every race.

Crystal ball is working fine but I didn't cash a dang ticket, though.

Mo stuff

Mo stuff

OH NO... this sho ain't gonna make any friends (dont' think I got any around here after the last couple of days, but there thems sure are coming in here to see what's up) but right after I put those zactas in I covered the plays with 4 stinken bucks W/Pl on that no. 5. Like Elliott and thought it could save the plays if the zactas fail. That exactly what happened.

I HOPE that doesn't mean posting and winning don't mix, but that wasn't the case BEFORE that snow fiasco closed this place down for a week.

Guess I'll see how the posts do tomorrow IF I PLAY anything (not going to mess with small fields and unknown hosses).

Last race.. uncappable.. but, I'll post something from LOOKING at them which has worked pretty good in the past. Just hope I see a "RTR" hoss (ready to roll).

Here ya go.. nos. 2 and 6 look a LITTLE better than the rest. Yeah, no. 2 has that early speed (that drops the anchor in early stretch), no. 6 is a first timer.

I'm on both, REAL small like :)

Wrap it up!

Wrap it up!

May have to say "sayonara" if the track continues to play like it is after Tuesday. There's always some good tennis matches goin on that keep me interested.

Looked like a terrible day, right?
But, here's some stuff that might share some light on the subject....

- Played 5 races all day (Imagine how the day woulda went if I played them all ? )

- Biggest "investment" (yeah, right) race" was the 5th where I "invested" (yeah right, again) $37 not so stinkin bucks and collected only $4 back due to scratches.

- just threw $16 away in the 9th race (got me another LATE, unposted play in this race, no.3 t/b with the 1,2,9. Another losah!)

- counting that UNposted play in the 8th, winnah. But that race only got me something like $10 profit.

Terrible day,.... but TOTAL loss was (only?) $42.

Not that bad for a day of "fun and frolic" AND BEING WRONG ... . . don'tcha think? Esp. after cashing half of a $402 zackta a week or so ago and taking a chance with a HEAVY DUTY play on a winning favorite last week that won.

HOPEFULLY, we're here to help out each other and maybe this kinda stuff helps. Sure helped me get through this weekend of "fun n frolic" alright.

Game Plan
Keep the bets small for Mon/Tues IF there are any worthwhile plays (don't worry - sho there will be).

Skip plenty of so/so races.

And, take a hoss vacation if the track continues to play like it has been.

DON'T play any other tracks.

Enjoy the tennis action.

No play in the 9th, so I'll be back later to update what is going on here.

THIS 7th race (TUES) looks like a 3-6-8 ex. box. Capping sez the no. 3 is the right one. No. 8 looks pretty good.
Maybe just pick one from these 3 cause the odds are pretty decent.

Wrapping it up

Wrapping it up

No. 3 won ($16.80), zack was 3-2 ($65). Don't ask me why I posted cause I'm the only one in here

I guees the 100+ viewers are allmost all guests and thems can't acknowledge that they are interested or even read what was posted. That ain't no fun :(
It's me and cie dank (sorry, CD, but I can't make any sense of what you (your friends?) write
But ya can stop in and write sumphin anytime even though I just skip over it. I can tellya.. there sure as hell will be PLENTY of other peoples (whoever thems are) reading it even if I don't have the time to.

Since I KNOW I'll prob. read this again - I gotta remind myself about yesterday (please excuse me for this part)....

I hit a few tennis matches and got my bankaroo over the mark where I make a trip to the ole bank :). Thought I left enough in to get me through the ponies until the end of today. I DIDN'T. Absolutely LUVED the nos. 3 and 7 in yesterday's 5th and went WAY overboard on that race. Did I EVER :00x10

Pretty disgusted how the track is playing (favorites and scratches) so I decided to do the ole SPOTTING thang. Just watchem in the prerace and forget the figures. For the last race I had the 5,7, and 8 in my "LOOKing Good" column. The 7 was ridiculous per his PP lines. AND THE NO. 8 WAS CIRCLED ON MY LIST (that means he looked the bestest). Played the no. 8 in the SPORTSBOOK (Twin Towers account was cleaned out). A little embarassed to write for how much,.. well, OK, it was $3 stinkin dollars to win and $5 stinkin to Place. Oh, I did play the no. 5 the same way.
See the results and you'll know why I'm writing this. AND it's happened plenty of time in the past too. DO check out the spotters I post cause me and YOU will prob. never catch those kinda hosses by capping.

Asfaras posting anything.. I'm here now and I'll post something for the last race today IF I SEE something. But, for the future, think I'll take a break posting to myself; really have to rush to get the plays posted if I "inspect them" in the prerace first. This place has some folks on the weekends, but I do better on weekdays. :(

10th race for Tues.

10th race for Tues.

Well, to start... I did some capping for this 10th race (TUES) and the no. 9, Steinbrenner (currently at 8-1), gets pretty good marks.

Gotta SEE them. Stick around guest visitors.

Hmmm.. I see thems betting the no. 5. Yeah, he's in my top 3 capping figures.

1-4-5 look OK.

But at 8-1, no. 9 has to go someplace (accross the board?).

G.L.

Wouldn't it be great if the tracks took a tip from the online sportsbooks and offered IMAGINATIVE PROP jobbies. You know. like.. "Hoss "x" is leading, going into the clubhous turn". I'd be rich.
(BTW, I'll be watching for that no. 9 to break his maden in a SPRINT race).

reults waz a 1-5 zacta at $28.20.

Good luck through the weekend, MJers and visitors.
