I dont think SMU was that big a dog only because supposedly last week Okie States spread against Savannah st was the biggest of all time and this is bigger. I dont think it covers for one reason Fla St. wont let it. Okie State tried calling off the dogs and they just couldnt tackle them I think fla st saw it and doesnt want to embarrass them again and may call off the dogs at opening kickoff instead of half time

I think you'll find SMU was a dog a couple of times after the death penalty of over 70+............

The game I was thinking of was against Houston in 1989 and I was wrong (I know hard to believe)........

Oddsmakers established Houston as a 58 1/2-point favorite, which is spreading it a little thick. The Cougars had 14 scoring drives and only one took as long as three minutes. Four took 45 seconds or less.

I remember I had SMU on a 4 team tease on was and couldn't believe they had zero chance of covering after the game started......

This cat is the most under-appreciated part of this fucking site, by a long shot!

People ask questions pretty much every day, or drop some nugget like this.....and IE has the answer in a heartbeat!

Cool beans, IE!

I made this point exactly in a bar when someone brought this up this afternoon.

I KNEW Florida had a larger than 70 point spread when they were rolling!

Thanks for posting this, IE. Always the best!
