Tennessee(-4) over Jacksonville (1*)
- - Last week Jax gave an all out performance that came crashing down with a coach firing, now the holidays bring an empty stadium and some scathing press. I think a versatile and well- coached Tennessee team brings the emotion to get the money and set up a season defining opportunity next week.
Chicago(+3)(-118) over Washington (1*)
- - I bet against Washington last week because I think they are a team very susceptible to underperforming when the pressure of expectations gets turned up. I see a still scrappy Bears team as a decent live dog.
Oakland(-3)(-135) over Indianapolis (1*)
- - IMO merely clinching a playoff spot is not the complacent trajectory the Raiders have been trending toward this season. Indy delivered a beat down at Minnesota last week but I think they are a suspect bunch for making a long road trip and delivering in another must win situation.
Green Bay(-6') over Minnesota (1 Biscuit)
- - I see a third straight divisional game at Detroit as the remaining test on whether Green Bay can run the table.
Cleveland(+5) over San Diego (1*)
- - Some Odds and Ends on the historic proportions of the Browns futility: "Prior to to this year's Browns, winless teams after week 9 were 50-18 ATS, 74%, since 1989. Browns are 0-6 against this trend. . . . Also, no team has ever gone more than an 0-10 ATS streak in a season. Browns are riding 0-8 . . . So, if they don't cover the next two games, they'll match the worst ATS streak of all time . . . Since 1989, only two teams have gone 3-13 ATS (2014 Titans, 2007 Ravens). Browns are currently 2-12 . . .? I let the Browns carry my cash a few times (and a few too many times) after 0-9 start, but had the good sense to steer clear the last couple weeks. I?m back on this week as they look to give themselves and their long suffering fans a moment of Christmas cheer.
New York Jets(+17) over New England (1*)
- - A division rival has something to play for here.
Merry Christmas to All!
