According to some sources, Joe Flacco's cap number for 2013 could be as low as $7M. Even if these reports are inaccurate, it will almost certainly be lower than $10M. This is significantly lower than the $14.9M the non-exclusive franchise tag would have incurred. The Ravens will now be able to put together their roster for 2013 with much more room for potential cap casualties and free agents. The long-term deal is great news for the Ravens and for us fans.

Realistic. I don't think the Ravens will even make the playoffs next year...and it's only gonna get worse as the years pass and his # against the cap grows.

Great, he's made the playoffs every year. He's also lost every big game in those playoffs until this year. Paying Flacco 120mil for his playoff run is like in baseball when a pitcher gets hot 1 season, then scores it rich in the offseason.

Joe Flacco is what he is, simply just average Joe. A top 5 quarterback is an elite quarterback who can make everyone around him and the team better....I don't think if you put Flacco in a Jags uniform, a team like the Jaguars get any better.
What are you talking about? He just beat Luck, Manning and Brady and out played all three, out played Brady 3rd time in a row and 2 were in Brady's house. He's never missed a start in 5 years. He's won more regular season games than any other QB in the NFL last 5 years. He's won more playoff games than any other NFL QB last 5 years. He's the ONLY QB that has been to the playoffs the last 5 years. Been to 3 AFCC games in 5 years. Has the best playoff record of any QB in the history of the NFL, and he doesn't win big games?? He's got records out the ass, more than any other QB for his first 5 years in the history of the game.
I'll give you the elite part but he's a franchise QB and he's still young. NO QB EVER has accomplished what he has in his 1st 5 years. NONE! EVER!
