Florida drivers....you suck!

Don't get confused. These asshats are everywhere, and you know it. Just seems that down here.....they are the norm.

The weather was great. Humidty almost nothing. Palmer Ranch is about 5 miles from my mom's place. She lives in the Bee Ridge/Beneva Rd area.


I hope you used your directionals!

Florida State Statute 316.155

When signal required---


(1) No person may turn a vehicle from a direct course or move right or left upon a highway unless and until such movement can be made with reasonable safety, and then only after giving an appropriate signal in the manner hereinafter provided, in the event any other vehicle may be affected by the movement.

(2) A signal of intention to turn right or left must be given continuously during not less than the last 100 feet traveled by the vehicle before turning, except that such a signal by hand or arm need not be given continuously by a bicyclist if the hand is needed in the control or operation of the bicycle.

(3) No person may stop or suddenly decrease the speed of a vehicle without first giving an appropriate signal in the manner provided herein to the driver of any vehicle immediately to the rear, when there is opportunity to give such signal.

(4) The signals provided for in s. 316.156 shall be used to indicate an intention to turn, to overtake, or to pass a vehicle and may not, except as provided in s. 316.2397, be flashed on one side only on a parked or disabled vehicle or flashed as a courtesy or ?do pass? signal to operators of other vehicles approaching from the rear.

(5) A violation of this section is a noncriminal traffic infraction, punishable as a moving violation as provided in chapter 318.

I always use my signals or as you call them directionals. :lol: You only have to use them when any other vehicle may be affected by the movement. So it appears you can change lanes without using them. Remedial. No need for you to worry about my family.

it is not a law you have to use your directionals old man its a courtesy.

You will receive zero courtesy and even less intelligence from driver's with minds like that.

hey buddy, I just now finally saw your florida post.


I thought you might like this. I know you have a issue with florida and its drivers. it made me think of my grandparents, who drive there everyyear for 3 months.


It may not be that "florida people" cant drive, more then it is just a lot of elderly people go there, and make it appear that florida is a poor driving state.



the reason I bring this up:




my grandparens call. I answer and they are telling me how they were looking for their condo/development down in florida. they said after driving on the "private road" for nearly 10 minutes, they realized that every single person was yelling at them and showing them their middle finger. they said everyone looked very angry and aggressive, and it was a scary moment.


the reason for this behavior was simple. MY GRANDPARENTS FAILED TO REALIZE THEY WERE ON A GOLF COURSE A MILE AWAY FROM THEIR DESTINATION. YES, THEY WERE DRIVING ON A CART PATH.


I am not afraid to admit it, my grandparents are 90 and should not be driving. period. end of story.

I have to assume this is the case with many of the elderly who travel south. florida has the highest population of elderly residents and in many instances, they are not florida natives, thus making florida not responsible for their lack of driving skills.
