Flu shot question

WTF is going on here.. i've been on my deathbed for 3 days.. just curious,when is the best time to get a flu shot and do they work??? before last year i never got sick,but within the last year i've gotton sick 4 times.. ( AND I DON'T MEAN A HEAD COLD ) fawking deathbed sick!!! im ready for the fawking bridge!!! :sadwave:

the flu is a virus that changes every year....it starts in China if I remember right....

the reason we get it every year is because of this new strain that comes out....people get sensitized to the old one and our immune system fights it off....well, if there is a new prominent strain/starins every year we need some help...

so along comes the vaccine which is made before every fall which epidemiologists put together what the flu bug is made up of so your immune system is prepared to fight it.....

best time to get it is as soon as it comes out....get it in a month or two......

I believe you are not suppose to get the flu shot while you are sick. Try and get thru what you have now. The shot should be available next month. They are already starting to advertise it around here in the stores.

I have been working outside for 20 years now. Up until 5 years ago I never got the shot. Me and my brother got really sick then. I get the flu shot every year. You still may get sick, but the symptoms are much milder and the duration of illness is much shorter.

In my line of work, I'm exposed to others hacking and sneezing away around me constantly. I guess I can't beat it away like I used to be able to. (or I'm drinking the wrong liquor)

Over the past 4 years or so, the shot seems to have become big business here. It started out at 5 bucks a pop and now has gotten to $20 +. Your health care plan may have it covered.

one more thing that I have brought up in this forum before....

I cannot be sick. My business won't allow for it. When I'm dragging ass in the winter months with some demon bug, Alka Seltzer Cold&Flu gell caps relieve the nasty symptoms more than enough so I can function. Doesn't cure anything, just gives me a crutch.

And Crown Royal on the rocks with a tall glass of ice water. :canada1

you are sick that many times??? Go to a DOCTOR AND GET A A BLOOD TEST.....you have problems with your immune system , trust me...no offense freeze , but the flu does not always start in China-thats a urban myth......also you spelled the name of a specialist wrong that has nothing to do with this problem...you didnt go to med school in Grenada did you?

-fill a 16oz glass with crushed ice

-turn the shower hot water on full blast
-sit on the chitter drinking your cointreau until empty and the hot water depleted.
-go to bed
-drink half the bottle of nyquil
-turn on football or seinfeld or green acres
-wake up feeling "ah"
-take the other 2 xanax
-take a shower

And I said GARGLE with hydrogen peroxide when you start having problems with your throat. You can swallow the shit if it floats your boat.

Part of my regiment when sick. Works like a charm.
