A month ago I said that Mia wouldn't start winning until they turned the team over to Strickland to run. Now I'm not a big Strickland fan but folks, he's the best they have at this time. He is a veteran who can score, push the ball up the floor and most importantly, get the ball to the shooters in the right spots. Riely wanted to make a point guard out of Carter and that just didn't work. Now it appears he has given up on Carter and maybe they can get headed in the right direction. This is not a 6-23 team, neither talent-wise nor coaching. Strickland has been ave 25 min but at Ind he had 36 min and wound up with 14 points, 10 boards, and 9 assists, 1 assist away from a triple-double. How long has it been since a Mia point guard did that. Of course, it didn't hurt that Eddie Jones finally got out of his shooting funk. We might make a little money on this team in the next couple of weeks. Now about tonights game.
First of all I show Mia with a + 2 adv. but I find this even more interesting. Mia's ave losing margin on the road is 3 points. That's only the NBA home-court adv. Their record on the road is 5-2-1 when getting over 3 and their worst loss was by 9 at NY on Nov 15 without Zo, Grant or Strickland playing. I like the defensive match-ups and if Strickland gets 34+ min I wouldn't be surprised at a straight-up win. Also liking the over but still got some work to do on that.
