been using WS_FTP for 5 years. never tried anything else. i just use it with notepad. it's free, of course.

Gotta agree with Jack, WS_FTP is the best freeware I have seen, they have a full blown version that is awsome, if you are in school they have edu versions for free also. I do alot of work with various unix flavors and I use the ftp utility that comes with exceed. I belive the harvard and MIT public CS depts. have free downloads of the edu version of WS_FTP.

I've always used CuteFTP. I think the reason is it's the first one I ever used. I use it because I'm familiar with it. Don't have time to load 10 different FTP Protocol programs and decide.
