fuked outta $1050 - what to do?

So I'm in Vegas in October staying at Harrahs, I think. Doesn't matter.

I went to Bellagio for some play, lost a little (imagine that?) but want to play some more without going back to my room for more money.

I go to the ATM and choose the option CC Cash Advance with no PIN. I get the approval for a dime and the machine instructs me to take the ticket to the Cashier to get the cash.

I take the ticket to the Cashier, I give them the ticket, my credit card and my drivers licence. She processes the cash advance, has me sign a few papers including the check and proceeds to get me the cash.

All of a sudden she notices that my credit card says JACK and my drivers license says JOHN and informs me that the transaction cannot take place because I do not have valid ID.

I proceed to show her other cards, papers, etc that proves that JACK and JOHN are one and the same.

Doesn't matter, no cash advance. So, I pitch a fit because I have been through this before and have had success after my explanation and proof. She's not buying it so I ask for her supervisor.

The supervisor comes out and I explain the WHOLE thing again but I go nowhere. I am NOT getting the cash advance, period.

Okay then, everything was processed, bitch, now what? Because sure as shit the process went through and I'm going to get charged to my credit card.

No problem Mr Wooden, I'll just void your ticket out and if you have a problem that will be your proof. "Okay, whatever." BYE!

Bill comes and sure as shit I got charged so I call Bellagio and after about 20 minutes finally get transferred to the Cashier. Long story short, he can't help me but all I have to do is dispute the charge with the CC company, no problem.

So I dispute the charge and about 6 weeks later it's removed from my account.

Last week the dispute department calls and have added the charge back and have sent me the papers the ATM company provided to them showing that the charge was paid.

I call and explain and she tells me to write a letter, and fax that with the cancelled receipt and she'll take care of it.

I do what I was told on Tuesday and find out today that they sided with the merchant and I have to pay the charge. WTF?! I NEVER GOT THE MONEY!

I call the CC company but find out I have to deal with this dispute officer and she's gone for the day.

NOW WTF DO I DO????

the receipt is not legible enough for them and they think I got the cash advance.

WTF WOULD YOU DO?

I shouldn't have to pay this.

I guess my next step is to wait to talk to her again on Monday but I bet I'm going to have to fly to Vegas so I can track down the "supervisor" at Bellagio and hope to be able to jog her memory of the night in question.

All she wrote on my ticket from the ATM is:

"voided @ Bellagio on 10/22/08 @ 10:40PM KMG swing"

I am not sure of the 3rd initial, could be a G an S an L, who knows?

I'll talk to the "dispute supervisor" on Monday and hear what she has to say. I guess I'm gonna have to do the leg work with Bellagio to find this fatass. If I need your assisstance, I'll let you know on Monday.

After all that, I walked over to Caesars to an ATM, did the same thing, went to the cage and got the advance, without any hitch at all. :shrug:

It's only a thousand bucks, not the end of the world, but this time it's definitely the point of the matter. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY THIS!

And, after 15 years or longer with this credit card with never a problem, you would THINK they would side with ME!

Whoa man, I feel for you Jack. I'd be pissed as hell. I'd do whatever it takes. Contact Bellagio and if they continue to not cooperate contact the Nevada State Gaming Commission. That should do the trick.

Get the name of the general manager of the Bellagio.

This should be very simple to solve. If they say they gave you the funds they the TILL or DRAWER will be less the $ and the slip will be in place. All of these numbers are recorded on a shift and daily basis.

Just hope that the cage employee did not pocket the funds and drop the slip.

RELAX have a drink and start the detective work.

Didnt they give you a voided slip from the CC machine ?

it's not really Bellagio's fault. yet.

why should *I* have to do all this shit to cover for something that never happened?

the processor (ATM company) won't even discuss it with me.

capital one should be on MY side.

that's why i like to only use amex because they ALWAYS side with their customer and NOT the fukin merchant.

this is really crazy!

not our fault, their fault, but it's their fault not our fault, you have to contact them because it's them, it's them, it's the other guy. it's all fuked up.

i already contacted them but looks like i'm going to have to again and they are going to HAVE to listen.

yes! it should be easy to solve but it's not working like that because there are 3 companies involved. bellagio, the atm people and the cc company. they ALL point the finger at the other guy and don't want to handle it.

it's really a hassle that *I* should not have to go through.

you're right.

at first bellagio blew it off blaming the atm people but since the atm people are sticking to their guns because of the papers sent by bellagio, it's back in bellagio's court.

i guess i'm just pissed at capital one for not siding with me after all these flawless years. they will definitely lose a customer over this when it's all said and done.

lots of smart folks in vegas (visitors and employees) always looking for an 'edge' to bet the casinos or whoever. from what i hear the cons end up working for the casinos , go figure.:00x10

i have her signed cancelled receipt.

worse come to worse, i have an excuse to go back to vegas to solve the matter in person.

i bet bellagio makes good on this.

another matter.

the ATM people have *SPECIFIC RULES* about the ID thing that I described above.

the check i signed is made out to JOHN but the credit card is under the name of JACK. ATM people say they can't give me the cash. not a valid ID.

even if i was deliberately fucking them over, i should not have to pay.

right?

yeah, roll your eyes but the charge was entered back to my account on the 3rd. iow, they already closed the case again. i talked to her yesterday around noon and she said i was next on the list to call and would call me back within an hour. never called me back and i called her many times today but was told she's not available. she already knew the answer/decision when i was talking to her.

yeah, it might get solved but why do i have to go through all this bullshit when i'm in the right?
