At the risk of also being blasted (and probably accused of being anti-American) I have to agree 100% with Hellah10. He knows what he is talking about and is right on the money.
I've been around for awhile, including protesting against the Vietnam war when it was "unpatriotic" to do so, and I've observed that most people don't want to see or hear the reality of what is going on.
Did anyone notice the Israelis and the Palenstinians were marching TOGETHER over the weekend to protest going to war in Iraq?

Like I said before..the US had no reason to be in the middle east the first time. They went to the gulf because ISREAL was in danger...not the US. And Saddam attacked Kuwait becasue Kuwait stole from him. Dont forget...Kuwait was part of Iraq, and when they became their own country....they took his oil and his gold. Thats why he attacked...and Isreal felt they were in threat....

By the way freeze....you friend in Iran - of course he`s gonna say that....Iran and Iraq had a longggggg waging war where Iraq won and defeated Iran...they are bitter enemies. If Canada whooped the USA's ass in a war...Iam sure you wouldnt have high regards to Canada....

Geez, I wake up and see 50 posts to GMoney's thread and figure the game has either been cancelled or there was a huge line move or something. But no, its a political war in here. . .

My two cents for the hell of it:

I have to agree with a lot of hellah's thinking. . . not all of it, but a lot of it. His point that we had several chances to assasinate Saddam is right on. . . if we really wanted him killed, it would not be a major problem given out technology, etc. So obviously there's a reason we want him alive and everyone can determine their own reasons why.

I think of this along the line of our country's "War On Drugs" b.s. campaign that started in the 80's. People, if our country really wanted to get rid of all drugs, it could be done. . . if there was really a war on drugs that started in the 80's, the availability of drugs today would be completely different as there simply wouldn't be any! So one could easily infer from this that our country has a reason for drugs to exist/circulate in our country and everyone can determine for themself what that reason is.

we need oil is why. Its a commodity. Have you looked around outside and seen how many cars, trucks, buses, commerce we have moving around because of oil. Its how we do business and make money. No gas no nothing.
