BIG ORANGE LAND!!
GOT THIS VIA EMAIL

NO GAS...On May 15th 2007
Body: Don't pump gas on May 15th
In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all Internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high Gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the Internet network, and The average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil company's pockets for just One day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in The Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldn't) resend this to all your contact list. With It saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"

Even if nobody bought gas on the 15th wouldn't that just mean that you would see much higher sales BEFORE and AFTER the 15th? Maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way but it seems like the total sales would still stay the same, they would just be shifted on a day-to-day basis to account for the lack of sales on the 15th. I would think you need at least a few weeks or even months of no sales before the oil industry even noticed.

Oops... I suppose if I had actually taken the 2 seconds to click on the snopes link above I would have realized it said the exact same thing I just did. :mj07:

these ideas never work. nobody will alter their overall consumption. the one-day theory makes no impact whatsoever.

...ehh, then again, just what quagmire said.:com:

Never understood this gimmick either. Ya got to get it sometime. Delaying when you buy it does nothing. Now if we all targeted one supplier this may work.

Volfan , my friend and I had said same thing today,

America DO NOT GO TO WORK. Its like when the airlines or trains go on strike.

The president steps in immediately.

America stop working until the prices seem to fit.

Two days you will see a drop of like 50 to 70 cents.

The good ol boys network will have to seat this one out.

Again AMERICA, DO NOT GO TO WORK.

See how long that will take before action is done.

Above the Clouds....
Have been getting similar emails. Don't buy from Mobile Exxon the biggest supplier. They get hurt and lower prices, the others follow suit and also lower prices. It just doesn't work. The thing I can't understand is why nobody is addressing this issue. There are no elected officails who are making a statement. Oh I forgot Hillary is investagating :mj07: What a crock!

Remember last year when Mexicans decided to see the effect of our economy on that "A Day Without Mexicans"? Hmm...

This doesn't work period!!

Havent' any of u heard of price restoration in the oil business.

Big DAMN Deal gas went down 30 cents over nite, 3 days later they raise it back up 40 cents, which is usually on Thurs evenings. Price Restoration is a BIG TERM to screw u at the quickie marts.
