I expect this kind of ignorance from weasel; he spews it all over this site every day....I'm kinda shocked to see it from you...of course, you also thought McCain had a chance against O'bummer, too.

I figured that this country was far to racist to elect a black prez. I was definitely wrong on that one, but this can be expected because I live in a more racist area of the country than most.

Don't you recall the uproar of the national media when gas prices spiked while W was in office.

I hear ya bro... work from home myself and I have a Mercedes that is paid off but I have had it 21 months now and only put 14k miles on it and only has 53k miles total... should I keep it and know what maintenance fees are or trade for something like this:shrug:

I don't know, dude. A little electric car will not pull ladies like a Benz. A single guy needs to have different priorities than me in that regard:cool:

Sure. But I really don't think it had anything to do with W being in office. gas prices had never spiked that quickly before so it was an easy news story--and since gas has risen higher than it is right now--its not a headline maker. When gas hits 4.50 or 5 a gallon this summer, watch how sensational the headlines are.

We'll see, chief. Let's hope we don't have to find out:0074

I feel its inevitable that the price of gas reaches these levels this summer. All the middle east troubles coupled with the refiners switch over from heating oil and winter gas to the summer gas blends and the developing worlds' greater demand for oil adds up to higher prices at the pump going forward.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
For decades there has been a strong correlation between presidential approval rating and gasoline prices. The more the gasoline rises, the lower the approval rating becomes.

Here's the latest

president-approval-rating-gas-prices.jpg

it was strikingly strong during W's term

presidentialBushgaspoll.jpg

the Gallup organization reviewed the equally strong gas price/presidential approval correlation during the Nixon and Carter admins here.

My feeling is the correlation mostly reflects that the same underlying factors drive both, but there is probably some causative correlation too.

Then the bitching should stop. Gas is no different than anything else. You want it.....they have it.....they can set the price.

Everyone else wants everyone else to make the sacrafice, so THEY don't have to. Nothing new, I guess. So, nothing changes, except the crying gets louder. :mj07:

Everyone wants the next guy to carpool, so he doesn't have to. Everyone wants the next guy to buy the small car, so he doesn't have to. Everyone else wants the next guy to take the bus/train, so he doesn't have to. Everyone wants the next guy to drive slower, so he doesn't have to.

See you at $5.00

At some point you will have had enough.

Amen brother.

No one gripes about 200$ cell phone bills, 200 bucks for cable tv and internet....get over it, or get a bicycle or take public transit.

If it matters to anyone Costco is .10 cheaper across the board.

:SIB

Can somebody explain this to me, I've always wanted to understand.

Is waiting in line for 30 minutes worth saving 1-2 dollars when there is .10c savings? I'm sure there is a starbucks drink or something else that can be cut out to save at least that much without sacrificing TIME, which to me is worth more than the buck or two I'd save.

Yeah for me it's not worth it at all. The QT around the corner is always about .10 higher than Costco. Coscto is about 4 miles away. 4+4 and my 9mpg auto just cost $4 just to save the .10 a gallon. But at 20 gallons I'm only saving 2.00 but overall I lose 2.00 because of the drive. I try to explain this my wife but she insist on driving over there to get her gas. Now if you're there anyway then why not but I don't go there just to get gas.

around $1.30'ish (litreage) in T.O., presently.
(i.e. app. $5'ish per gallon...almost x4 on the convert)

We may have it (country-wide) coming out of the ass but we're both taxed up the ass on same.

No shortage supply--don't believe anyone who tells you same.
Refinery shortage, if anything...capacity on mentioned.

ambiguity is sin (or in, depending on external cognizance)

I am very fortunate to have a company vehicle, get a new one every 2 years, and have for 27 years, and gas as well as insurance and repairs are paid for. I feel for those that have to fill up and use their own money. Have to fill up Angelas VW bug every 2-3 weeks ~13 gallons.

Still, it irks me to death how much control the oil companies have, which rolls down hill to the consumers. Total bullshit.

now again,brainiac...why is it that we`re lending brazil money to drill for oil(money that we`re borrowing, btw) while this administration is blocking permits for our own drilling and procurement in spite of court rulings ordering them to allow it to go forward?...we`ll lose 2 trillion in revenue over 20 years thanks to this moron...

don`t strain yourself...

//i know...how dare i question progressive group think?

what planet have you been living on?.....gas is going through the roof...and then the dominos fall...food,clothing,anything that has to be transported goes through the roof...not to mention every product that is derived from petroleum(which is almost everything)...

this doesn`t hurt the fat cats...this hurts everyday working folks that are living paycheck to paycheck....

and yet we sit on our hands....

but,to read the newspapers,we`re damned lucky....just imagine what would be happening if the whitehouse`s energy plan wasn`t working like a charm.......///////////
