"the bunker"
theres a local radio personality that had it done awhile back.....and he`s in his late 60`s....

he`s a different person...he`s got a new life... a second chance...

came through it like a champ and swears by it.....

i think nowadays complications are fairly rare...

i think it`s a great idea....

i`m tickled shitless for you...

btw...i saw a back surgery mentioned in a previous panel...

back surgeries are hell, from what i`ve been told...very scary stuff ...fusing discs...taking bone from the hip....

i`d be more worried about a back surgery....

and if i`m not mistaken, bariatric procedures can be reversed if necessary...

6`5"?

Good luck, Brent. I too think everything will be fine.

I'll be keeping up with your blog, and if you need any advice on what to expect with insurance companies/doctors, etc. please let me know I went through a steady "process" of it before my kidney transplant.

Thank you so much to everyone for your positive responses and encouraging words. I am incredibly touched.

Our insurance policy has an exclusionary clause for this type of surgery. I've fought with them and had the hospital do so as well. Going to pay for the surgery out of pocket. When it's all said and done it will be around $20,000 ($17,000 for surgery and $3,000 for tests, meetings, etc.). Several friends have already gotten together and are having a benefit golf outing and dinner for me at our club in mid-October. Whatever funds we don't raise, my boss has pledged to make up the difference.

I'm incredibly blessed to have so many friends that care and are so encouraging. I truly appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers.

I'm glad you've made this decision Brent. I know 2 people that have done this procedure. It's amazing the transformation!

You've just added many years to your life. I'm very happy for you! :00hour

Ummmmmmmmmm.......be sure to ask how much Crown you can consume during football season. You know, the important questions! :mj07:

"The power of the Crown will compel you!"

Take care.
