You already sound dumb. Tread lightly, as it can only get worse for you from here.

Really? So I guess you were just assuming it said that? Someone sounds dumb but it isn't me

No problem with the decision but big problem with how it was made. Wait until the SC takes away something that is actually Constitutional, like freedom of speech, and see how you like that.

I think it is great and hope we can soon move on to legalizing marijuana, and other drugs for that matter. Can't believe it took this long. Cheers to those who have been waiting for this :toast:

As for the opponents, you're just this generation's fools. Thanks for readily identifying yourselves.

I'll chime in here...

I'll chime in here...

And I'm sure this post will get some hate filled replies. I find myself torn on this issue a bit. On one hand, I have a lot of friends (some that are gay) and others that are FOR this initiative. My facebook feed was filled with support the other day. My concerns are this: Will it make for a better, more equal society or not? Some points for consideration:

1. Will this hurt adoption proceedings nationwide? There are many families in the US that can't have kids and want to adopt. Gays should have equal rights as straight people in these proceedings. However, this decision now opens the floodgates for discrimination proceedings. It will happen on both sides.

2. Will this cause more violence nationwide. I'm sure people are are ready to dismiss this, however I wouldn't. Just a few days ago, coming out of Chipotle for lunch I saw two gay men kissing in public and making a show out of it. I just walked on by, but comments were made and a fight could have broken out. I may give my wife a few pecks on the lips in public, but I don't make a show out of it. If a gay couple does this in front of the wrong people or in the wrong place, it could invite trouble. Additionally, if a gay couple is to live in the wrong place, or if they are just passing through this could invite trouble.

3. Family and marriage law: I can see a lot of this needing to be rewritten, just wait....

4. Religious Liberty and laws: linky I'm not going to get into this, but here is a good article on it.

5. There will be a lot of controversy on this issue moving forward, just wait. If you don't believe me, watch the news.

I like to think of myself as pretty open when it comes to the issues. I'm for gun control, helping the environment, a flat tax/much lower taxes across the board, helping veterans, and I'm pro-life. With this, I'm leaning against it still but we'll see if I'm wrong and how it plays out. If it turns out to be a good thing, I'm going to support it moving forward. However, I can't right now. I have straight and gay friends that have been together for years and I just can't support it right now. Marriage is supposed to be between a man and a woman, however if this helps us as a country I'll change my stance on it.

Very difficult, heated, call-to-arms type problems will arise when grade school children nationwide are being taught that its okay to have two daddys and no mommy.

Kids will have zero problem with it, they are children.

The angry bitter older homophobic hateful people are the ones who have a problem.

Actually it IS constitutional. Read the 14th amendment. Based on precedent it now applies to all not just african males. Now it includes not just race but gender and sexality. However, due to the 1st and 2nd you have nothing to worry about. Guns will never be banned in my lifetime. (50)

I gather that is the truth, and just don't want to get on their bad side. Like I said in another thread I picture this hedgehog person going off on anybody that does not think like him. Guy posts some strange stuff, and seems like skulnik and raymond are the triumvirate forming the peas in the pod. To each their own. Think I will leave the politic threads to the angry folks. :0008
