Nope.
1. I've lived in the same neighborhood almost 40 years. During that time there has not been one single armed break-in. However there have been several "accidental" shootings when a moron with a loaded gun awoke from a bad dream and blew away a family member, or "didn't know it was loaded", or dropped it, or was drunk, or a child got hold of it.
You may remember recently a Mom went to Wal Mart with her two year old child. Mom had a loaded and chambered gun in her purse to "protect herself and child."
The two year old got the gun and shot mommy through the head.
2. To get into my house at night you first have to get through one of two doors, both solid oak 1-1/4" thick.
While you're trying to do that, I can drop two loads of 00 in my skeet gun and blow you to hamburger.
What you bad-ass gun nuts will never learn is that within the confines of a house, a shotgun is way, way superior to a pistola. I need only hit you in a leg or blow an arm off, to put you down, and you bleed out before the ambulance can arrive. A head or center body shot and you're dead before you hit the floor.
Nobody survives a double load of 00 at ten yards.
