I like all those movies........and Papillon was terrific.

Movies were so good back then that Papillon never even got nominated for movie of the year.

The Sting won best movie that year...1973
American Graffiti
Cries and whispers
The exorcist
A touch of class

I think Papillon was a good as the 5 above.

Love Gene Hackman !! Loved him in almost every movie he did....

Saw a Robert Duvall interview many years ago & he said Hackman was our greatest actor....

He must be in his 80's now which is probably why he is not making any movies....

the gene hackman movie that not many ever mention that was an excellent thriller was the remake of "narrow margin"........really great supporting cast(anne archer/james sikking/jt walsh/m emmett walsh/probably some other walsh in there somewhere)...most of it takes place on a train and it was solid...

that and "scarecrow'(w/pacino) were my fave hackman movies.....

he was one of the best...ever...,imo...

Two great films he was in have not been mentioned yet. 'No Way Out' and 'Get Shorty'.

"Look at me Ray." Hahaha love that scene.

Oh and watch 'Heist' also if you haven't yet.
