Betwwts still has USC +140 to win the Orange Bowl. That is ridiculous. Last week Pinnacle had USC -105 to win the Orange Bowl and that was before USC beat Oregon St. USC should get to the Orange Bowl and I feel USC is the #1 team in the country. ND "could" upset USC but highly unlikely. USC will be fully healthy by the ND game and it is at USC. Remaining 3 games are Arizona, @UCLA, and ND. Basically 2 home games and 1 neutral game, but 2 rivalry games. USC will be heavy favorites in all 3 games.

When making this bet, you should be betting USC to make it to the Orange Bowl, not necessarily winning it. If/when USC gets to the Orange Bowl, then you can leave it at +140 or hedge/middle it. It is a high probability USC will be favored in the Orange Bowl. This bet is worth losing IMO and I keep on pounding it.

I just added $2000 to win $2800 on USC to win the Orange Bowl +140 at betwwts.

So here are all my bets on USC to win the NC.

$1500 to win $12,000 (pinny bad line)
$500 to win $1000 (betwwts)
$1000 to win $1600 (betwwts)
$2000 to win $2800 (betwwts)

Total: $5000 to win $17,400!!!!!!!!!!

USC is hurting at WR because the NCAA did not let Williams back and other #1 WR Lewis was academically not allowed to play this year. Smith was then our #1 WR at the start of the year and he is a good one but got injured. He will be back in 2 weeks and should be 100%! Freshman Dwane Jarret (#2 WR & Williams clone) is getting better and better each week along with 1st year starter McFoy (who has bum knee now but will be 100% in 2 weeks). USC still has talent at the #4 and #5 depth chart at WR but NOBODY starting this year has had experience. That might explain why this year the offense was/is not as explosive but by the ND game and Bowl game USC will be experienced and healthy. Not to mention USC started 4 completely new starters on OL this year. Majore rebuilding year for USC this season and they are making a NC run. EVERYONE must know about Dom. Byrd the USC TE, he IMO is the #1 TE in the country. VERY EXPLOSIVE! SO USC might not need great WR play to be effective in the passing attack. USC will be experience and hopefully explosive by the time the Orange Bowl comes around. The ND game should tell us a lot. If USC is not explosvie but makes it to the Orange Bowl, then simply hedge all or a portion of your bet or middle it. USC +140 is SUPERB VALUE if USC makes it to the Orange Bowl. I think USC makes it, don't you? Would take a MAJOR upset for USC not to make it and I am willing to risk 5k on that!

Your an Irish fan but betting on USC +140 means your rooting for USC to beat ND and win the title. What is your take on the USC/ND game and TY? USC has superior athletes, home game, and superior coaching= solid USC win IMO.

realistically I don't see ND winning that game. I imagine usc will be at least a 14 pt fav. For Nd to have a chance they will have to be able to run the ball and control the clock keeping Usc off the field. Brady Quinn can not match Usc score for score. And I think they will need a big special teams play and a couple of turnovers to get the win. Which probably won't happen. Brady Quinn is getting better, but Usc's D will be able to shut down Nd's offense. I don't see ND scoring more than one offensive TD. Nd will not score more than 17 giving Usc the easy win. I wonder what the over/under will be? The under may be worth a look, as both teams play good defense, and Nd has a bad offense. I see it being 31-13 USC.

If ND stuffs the run in this game, which I believe they will, they should have a reasonable shot to win the game in the 4th quarter.

You better hope they dont play AUBURN in the orange bowl or you may as well have flushed that 5k down the toilet. LOL I am not an Auburn fan but they would drill USC and I hope that matchup happens so you can see what a real conference produces as a champion. Just like last year!! Pac 10 is weak!! Miami is finding out what a decent conference schedules does for you. ACC not nearly as tough as the sec. So you better start hoping Ga or somebody upsets AUBURN!!

So. Cal
is that the same auburn team that sc drilled last year on the road in the "tough" sec?

i dont hear him predicitng anything about sc winning a title (which i'm sure he thinks they will) but more about them being favored in the title game in which case you can hedge and have both teams at +money to win.

I hope many madjackers took my advice and bet USC to win the Orange Bowl.

Betwwts now has USC even to win Orange Bowl (still a decent bet)

Olympic has USC -150 to win the Orange Bowl! :scared

To be quite honest, if I had to choose an opponent for USC to face it would be Auburn. AU does not not scare me so I prob. would keep my bet if USC is healthy and facing AU in the Orange Bowl. (I am not saying AU cannot beat USC) Or maybe I would put my original investment on AU +pts to try and middle and not lose any money. That is what was so great about this bet. MANY OPTIONS provided USC gets to the Orange Bowl.

Hope lots of posters took advantage! :)

USC will still have to get past Oklahoma Scott. It should be the 2 best teams in the nation.

Auburn vs. Oklahoma.

USC is about the caliber of Utah.
THAT would be a good bowl game.

usc not in the mix with Auburn or OU, overrated SC d gets outdone by either offense, should have lost to VA tech if not for awful officiating

My take on this:

USC should be in the Orange Bowl but their hope for a repeat is based on who they face:

Oklahoma=win
Auburn=loss

Auburn may get snubbed which would be a tragedy IMO. . . the Tigers are the best team in the country. The reason I give USC the nod over Oklahoma is all based on the game against Cal. USC didn't play their best ball but still beat a Bear team that would have beaten nearly any other team (except Auburn). Just my take but Scott SHOULD be rooting for OU to get in if he wants to take home the cash.

I realize you're all high and mighty on your team Scott and for good reason since they are undefeated. But they are much softer than last year and you know that. Make all the excuses you want but that's the way it is and if you aren't as biased as everyone thinks and crazy at that, I would consider a complete hedge if Auburn meets your Trojans.

I think USC would have an easier time playing AU. AU has played piss poor schedule and have not been tested by anyone that is the caliber of USC. What team has AU faced that would prepare them for USC? Has AU seen an offense like USC? An OC that USC has? A QB and running backs like USC? A defense like USC?

I have no idea why you think AU is the best team in the country. Was it their big win over Citadel? La. Monroe? Louisiana Tech? Miss St.? Ole Miss? Kentucky? Arkansas? The 1pt win over LSU? Beating Tenn. who starts 2 frosh QB's and a team who ND beat? All those home victories? What exactly is it that makes you think AU is the best team in the country?

I am just curious to what criteria you use to determine AU the #1 team in the country.

One more thing. If anybody took my advice, they could take a guaranteed profit of 40% by betting against USC to win the Orange Bowl offered by Pinnacle. I did not do it because I think USC will win it but that was and is an option.

believe it or not, some people actually have an innate ability to evaluate talent and overall strengths and weaknesses of teams (and can then form cogent opinions and arguments for head to head hypothetical matchups). not everyone has to punch SOS numbers into a calculator or worry about who played who as the sole basis for their argument.

yes, auburn has faced a defense like usc's. in fact, they faced a tougher defense: louisiana state.

as far as qb goes- leinart hasnt been nearly as impressive as last year. frankly, he doesnt scare anybody. he's certainly not going to scare auburn's defense.

we understand that auburn hasnt faced anyone like usc this season.

im not sure the new england patriots or pittsburgh steelers have faced anyone nearly as good as usc this season.

i think nickelback is a pretty smart guy when it comes to evaluating talent and teams. and he's a west coast guy (one of your own boys) thats telling you that you are being less than objective.

I asked him to explain to me why he thinks AU is the #1 team in the country. He merely stated AU is the best team in the country and I am curious to why he thinks that. Maybe he can educate me and I can learn something.

I disagree with you thinking AU has faced a team like USC. OU is a team who is more battle tested to face a team like USC and vice versa.

I also disagree with you about Leinart. He has played great this year. He might not look so impressive because USC only starts 2 players on offense from last year and have a few key injuries right now. Right about now is when you should see everything clicking. Look for a different USC team in the next 3 games and the Orange Bowl.

You sure about that?

:142lmao: funny!

I am sure he is a smart guy and I respect him as I respect you. However, his opinion alone means very little to me. That is why I asked him to explain why he feels that way because I don't see it. Him being from the west coast means nothing. It is all about supporting your opinion and if an AU fan says his team should be #1 and he supports his opinion well then I will respect it.
