I just kinda skimmed over it, but if I read it right you're pissed because you lost on your semi-bluff flush draw with 6-7 suited?

Bad beat, man. What was he thinking?

I probably am missing something, but did he even need the straight to beat your horrible hand?

Well I dont see how he could call that but so be it  You are correct though he didnt need the 10 to beat me. HOWEVER he doesnt know that. Would you call that?

Well, obviously anybody would call your all-in after catching the nut straight on the turn.

If you mean your prior raise, I probably wouldn't call it, but then again I wouldn't be making that large (in this context) raise that you made with that draw either. You tried to get him out of the hand with nothing and you got beat. It happens.

Far from a bad beat or anything to get pissed about.

Yeah, that would have been good if the spade had hit. Of course. That's what you were betting on.

You aggressively raised after the flop on a draw with two low suited cards and an A and K on the board. I'm not sure slinging around the word 'HORRENDOUS' towards that guy is really apropos unless you look at your play in that hand in the same context.

No offense, but he's probably posting on some forum talking about yet *another* guy aggressively chasing a flush that donated money to the table.

Well, I guess we will just have to disagree on this one Kosar, or maybe I'm right and you just dont understand higher levels of poker playing? :142smilie I raised pre flop, represented a big hand with a check raise on the flop when he made a weak stab at the pot. At this point I dont see how a player of even marginal ability could call that raise. Reraise if we had more money maybe if he sensed I was stealing but he cant call, its the worst play available to him. Im sure BDB would agree and many other good players. So what Im semi bluffing, youre so caught up in that you are missing the point of the post that HE CANT CALL. OR, maybe Im wrong.

I'm not caught up in the 'semi-bluff', i'm just saying that you both were basically doing the same thing and he had better cards. One thing though is I didn't notice it was a check raise on the flop and of course you don't call there. Get out or raise, trying to represent the ace or even the flush draw that you had.

That said, I think you overplayed a terrible hand, even with the draw. You took a shot and lost. Maybe you guys had been playing a while and he identified you as a bluffer. There are so many variables, but I wouldn't give you any medals regarding playing 6-7 suited that way. Certainly not to the point where you comment on the other guy as being horrendous.

Anyways, it's all good. :SIB

Well neither of us had a read unless he knew me from be4 cause it was my 2nd hand at the table.

Having said that :banghead: maybe you just had to be there but trust me it was horrendous.....

agent,

your play was fine if you were playing for any substantial amount of money, 10/20 n.l blinds or higher.

your thinking is right, and its absolutely the right play and you will rarely get called down in that spot at a decent sized game, and even if you do its good for your metagame image and makes it +ev.

to make that play in kitchen table poker which 25 cent 50 cent is, is terrible on your part. bluffing little games makes no sense. you will get called way more often than are supposed to and will never show a long term profit.

small stakes poker has very little strategy, especially online. its who can make the better hand.

i'd be willing to bet that i would be a long term loser playing low limit holdem online.

you made a play that is correct for a different level of opponents, but that stuff doesn't work in small stakes.

nothing to get pissed about. if you are trying to build a roll, just play 8-12 tables at once and agressively play top tier hands. use a second or third monitor for porn, so you aren't too bored, but you will still be bored silly and its a long long grind. but you will win in the long run and be bored senseless.

gl

p.s and jack, you know better. a 22 hand sample size. :)

Was kinda trying to dance around that and talk about things in 'relative' terms. But of course that's the answer. I need to stop being so sensitive to others feelings and say what I really think. :sadwave:
