Not a big need for them anymore. We have 2 malls in our city of ~45,000 and they both are bankrupt. Not enough population to support them with online sales. I have damn near zero need in going to any mall ever. Why? Better deals online and everything delivered to my door step. No driving, parking, standing in lines.
personally don't care for on line shopping..
I want to see and touch what I buy..
especially clothes,replacement parts and electronics
and I despise freight and shipping cost..
need a gasket for a backpack blower..>...$0.59
shipping $4.50...ya can kiss my ass
can't stick in an envelope for 1/10 the cost

Guess I agree with Jack here.... in your example, Old School, you do have to factor in the amount of time you would spend driving to the hardware store and then the gas to get there. Probably ends up as a wash.... but I get it, it can be fun to walk around the hardware store - although I always end up buying more items that I originally went there for....
You go to the MALL for a gasket? No.
Most online shops have free shipping.
Electronics are not bought at the mall either.
no I don't go to the mall for a gaset
and every parts dealer I use has shipping cost they ain't free
and yes electronics were bought at the mall prior to big box stores and on line shopping..
Sears and Penny's were in malls all across the country and had huge electronic sections prior to the change in buying habbits..
people don't want to go to the stores ..it's all laziness..and ease..
and the question of cost to the store..there is no cost for me..
store shopping is done in a company truck performing company needs..
by the way..I still write checks for the monthly bills too.
I can see both sides of it. My wife has to look at stuff before she buys it, while I'm an online shopper. I don't want to waste the time of going to the mall or wherever it might be.
Very cool pictures OS, you look at those and say wow. Movie theaters of all kinds are the next to go (even dollar movie theaters), mark my words.....

Online bill pay is the best invention since the air conditioner.
Was that you in line in front of me at Kroger the other day that paid with a check and had to even take to time to make his entry in the ledger?

So, the moniker "Old School" is appropriate, eh? :0074

Oh there is cost to you. Why do you think getting merchandise online is cheaper?
