why exactly did the giants call timeout?

all they did was give the niners potentiall more time on a final drive......didnt the giants think they could move into fg range in 2:40 and 3 timeouts???

That was clearly a fumble... That forward progress whistle was bullshit... Alex Smith was stopped for a sack on the previous possession and they let him get hit again

Honestly, I didn't think that was a terrible call. Definitely could have went the other way, and it goes back to exactly what I was saying half an hour ago about "letting the play run", but I still didn't think the call was terrible.

That returner sucks. Championship game is when you try to make a play. Should have been able to get a return.

All it would have done was force Giants to use one of their 2 TOs. They'd still have the ball with 1:18 and one TO, which is plenty of time to get into FG range. Have top try and pick up the first there.
