Guys! I work at an alternative high school. A retired engineer has been volunteering his time there for the last 15 years or so. He goes from class to class to help the kids with math. Well, he fell last Friday in the parking lot. He is in good spirit but hasn't been able to return to the campus. I need suggestions on what to get him on my way to visit this Saturday. He's about 70 years old.

Get every kid that you can that he has helped, to make a thank-you card of their own and bring them all up to the hospital at the same time. Approach the teachers while they are having their morning coffee to organize this event.
Call a local news station and have them report it. I think that kind of generosity is news worthy.

Damn you guys already came up with some smart heartwarming ideas. I was gonna say get him a bed bath and beyond giftpack plus maybe a bottle of wine but I give that to pretty much everyone so just go with what they said.

Have the math/science class put together some presentation or report on the physics of free-falling. And the force of a man hitting the sidewalk. Seems like the type of joke an engineer would appreciate.
