HULK - REVIEW .......Here is another one.

" Expository dialogue is crammed awkwardly into scenes. Villains suddenly appear without introduction, and dramatic events happen offscreen. Most crucially, the movie is simply too long, and -- most disastrously -- a full third of it goes by before the Hulk finally appears.

When he does stomp on, the movie picks up, yet the movie never progresses beyond Bruce-is-betrayed, Bruce-gets-mad, Bruce-turns-Hulk, Hulk-breaks-things. When things are that schematically presented, it's impossible to become emotionally involved. What is there to identify with in someone who succumbs to dark and overpowering rages? What is there to cheer in the spectacle of a brute blindly smashing everything to rubble, and destroying anyone who attempts to stop him?

This green-eyed monster may be the perfect symbol of an angry time. But he's an impossible hero to cheer. "

JT,

Funny that you mention that. Supposedly that character was based on Scott Rudin, whose production company my friend interned for. Producers and the like certainly are vulgar and short tempered at times but that film was a little over the top. Supposedly back in the day it was worse than what I saw, though.

Have not seen the movie, and don't intend to.No desire to.I will predict this movie will be a flop;watch next week's box office gross.I know quality is not always measured by high ratings or amount of money made, but it will be in this case, in my humble opinion.

I just have to get a pet peeve off my chest after mercury brought up box office gross.

Why on earth do ordinary Joe Lunchpails know or care about box office gross? You are not in the movie industry and you don't own stock in a studio, so just concern yourselves with the quality of the film and forget about its commercial success. I find the fact that box office numbers have become so widely known that they can be wagered on sad. Just concern yourselves with whether the movie is good or bad and stop nosing in on business information.

If I wanted to talk about how well a movie did commercially, I would call up someone who actually works in the business and talk to them about it. They would not only know about box office numbers and what they mean, but have something valuable to add to the conversation because those numbers affect their livelihood one way or another. Unless you are one of those people, can we please keep the conversation to things that affect you first hand like the quality of the film?

Now your calling me a Lunchpail ?

No wonder you are still getting coffee and sandwhichs.

If the studios didnt want us to know the box office do you think we would ? They tell us because its a way of getting us to the movies which makes them more money. Alot of times it can make or break the movies success by manipulating numbers game to the lunchpails.

If they can get word out before alot of ppl see it and start bad mouthing then they can make and clear maybe 150 million.

I am surprised at you Nick. I thought you were more edjamacated coming from USC and all.

Mr. Scott,

Your reading comprehension is betraying you. I never said studios didn't want Joe Lunchpail to know box office numbers. I was merely questioning why someone who doesn't work in the movie business would would care about those numbers.
