I have evacuated 4 times since 2004, but never before then. I have lived in New Orleans since 1979. I don't get it. Must be all the SUVs, right  . All I know is it's starting to get annoying. So far I have sustained no significant losses, but enough is enough. For the first time ever, I am going to consider moving out of New Orleans once we get through this latest fiasco.

GL ageecee, Schouest and the rest of you guys in the path. I'm gonna be in Gulf Shores til further notice.

Man tough situation. Hard to believe you guys are having to evacuate again like this.

I am not sure I could deal with it as long. Just too much life changing chances as the hurricanes are not going to stop coming into the gulf and their intensity (global warming ) seems to be stronger all the time.

gl you gulf coast residents and may God Bless you.

On a good note, McCain says they are going to have the convention turn into a fund raiser for the Red Cross to help the areas.

We will see how orginized that turns out to be.

Bush may delay his speech Monday to sateilite as he is not willing to go anywhere close to a hurricane I think we know.

Were you -Gore and other GW alarmists sleeping through 06 and 07 when we had 2 years of mildest hurricane seasons ever. :)

I just couldnt do that kind of drive in all that traffic. I would have to leave a day earlier than everyone else, or leave just as it was 2 hours away and take my chances. No traffic, no cops , 80 mph, down the road.

Glad it came out ok for you agee

Glad to hear it. I also came out unscathed, as did LABurns. Thankfully, my trip from Destin took only 5 hours yesterday morning. We were in Gulf Shores until mandatory evacuation sunday morning from the beach club.

Levees held up in NOLA, and after 2011 the levees should no longer be any type of concern:00hour
