Wife & I are going on an African Safari we leave on June 22nd and return on July 10th. This has been on our list for many years & we kept on putting it off, she is retired & I'm semi-retired. In 2010 I was diagnosed with bladder cancer, everything is still OK since my last check up, so about a month ago we committed . Just had my last vaccination ( yellow fever ) today. We are getting really excited about this new adventure.
We fly into Amsterdam & stay for a couple of days ( wife doesn't do jet lag well ) then we fly into Nairobi, Kenya to start , we will end up in Tanzania. Most of our travel will be by land & a couple flights to conserve time. The camps ( if you call them that ) are luxurious , we really aren't roughing it out in the bush. Sorry about the length of the post but I could go on & on.
CAN'T WAIT !

Has anyone done this or visited Africa ? If so let me know.

Sounds like a real winner. Hopefully there will be a big trip report with pics.

Have fun.

"Don't go for a walk with your guide wearing zebra spandex, said Warren Green, who had a traveler actually go on a safari walk wearing zebra spandex. He thinks she might have been Russian. But really, leave the animal print to the animals.

Thanks for all the kind words & suggestions of " What not to wear out in the bush ". Has anyone been to Amsterdam ? We are spending a couple nights before flying to Kenya. I don't drink or smoke weed anymore & I'm not in the market for a prostitute. If it was 1984 they probably would have to drag me out of Amsterdam with those 3 things. We are staying in the City Ctr. & plan on doing a hop on & off touring the museums & canals. Any other suggestions ?
