I was there,...the phones stopped ringing in sept 2008 the axe dropped OCT 30th, off for nine months, got back to work JULY 27th 2009.
I was lucky, 32 years in GM dealers, it was easy to get sore at GM, but did no good.
If the $$$ will allow take a short thrifty trip to somewhere you always wanted to, or like to go, clear your mind and then cut back maybe to the bone as you see fit.
That is what I did. Signed for UN_Employment, yep only 2nd time I signed, first time I got a check, (was only off 2 weeks in Dec. 1992)
Spent a day at the RANGE, NOV 1st, nothing like burnt gunpowder to clear my brain. Got my resume tuned up, hit the sites hard with it, no results, first interview was in March, takes time at our age, (you gotta be in your 50's with 36 years)
